When I chops my plants down and manicure them, i know i cut off the fan leaves but do i cut the small leaves that are covered in trichs too or do i let them be?

Take off all the fan leafs and throw them away, then take off all the little bud leafs and set aside, then snip off all the leaf fingers that are poking out of bud and put them with bud leaf. Dry and make butter.

leave anything with crystals. i know people lke to trim and make shit all pretty but you can leave the sugary leaves. they help protect the bud a lil also in case you molested your weed to much

Look up DJ Shorts method. Cut the fan leaves leave the rest and dry the whole plant cut off at base. Then when they the little leaves on the buds get dry/crispy/ curl around bud and ready to cure- then manicure and cut all sugar leaf off and use for whatever and toss trimmed buds in paper bag, then jars for final cure. The little "sugar leaves" help protect the bud and trichs when drying... Just what I've heard.. Also heard you getter a better finish by drying out the whole plant together..

And nice sn! hehe

I disagree with leaving any leaf on buds. Reason is it can promote mold/slow drying. Also the way to protect trichs is keep it out of the light.

No I'm saying leave on the sugar leaf until after hang drying. You leave it on til they curl up/dry/crisp and buds outter is dry to touch. Then you take down and manicure then put in paper bags, then onto jars. The final manicured product is just bud, no leaf.

Prevent mold by good airflow, but yes leaving the small sugar leaf may add some humidity. Not insisting on leaving the large fan leaves for drying if thats how it was taken.

you can chop the whole plant dry it as is if you wanted to,then trim it up and smoke....but trimming the leafs off when wet, is easier then it is to do dry:peace:

As is the case in many instances, it is really a matter of personal preference than a right or wrong way of doing it.

I know people who hang the whole plant without trimming anything at all. Others cut just fan leaves or manicure even more closely than the fan leaves before hanging. I know others that dont leave the plant whole at all when hanging. They hang big buds and use a screen on the smaller buds. Some use a paper bag after hanging and some skip that step completely and go straight from hanging to jar. One thing they all have in common is this.... when they are done curing all of them have equally outstanding results.

Find a method that works best for you. And the only way to do that is trial and error because all of us are growing and curing in very different conditions (temps, air flow, humidity levels, etc, etc). There is not a one size fits all solution. Let alone a black and white, right or wrong way of doing it.
