so i hear everybody say different preferences on drying there smoke.

that they let there buds hang dry until the stims snap, or let the buds dry enough so that they bend but not snap.

or they say let them hang just for 5 days then cure them.

others say 10 days and then cure.

just was wanting to get some info on what everybody esle does out there in t.v. land?

iv'e got a little plant to dry and cure here is a pic of what i'm working with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I prune and manicure the bud, leaving it on the branches. Then hang to dry in dark place until it feels crisp to the touch, a couple of days maybe.. It's not dry, just on the outside- the stems should be spongy- now put it in a brown paper bag and let it dry until stems snap, then into a mason jar to cure. Careful not to over dry, it will always smoke harsh if you do!

i cut em down, then trim off all the bigger "easy to get to" leaves, then i hang it in the closet for 2 -5 days (just until the edges are gettin crispy) and then i finish trimming the leaves (i found that trimming the smaller leaves is MUCH easier after a couples days of it hanging upside down) and then i throw in it a jar for a day or two to cure. if its still a little wet i'll leave the lid off the jar til the edges get crispy again then let it cure again. i sample it every time after i cure it, i just dry and cure til it gets to where the smoke tastes best to me. works like a charm. enjoy, looks like a nice little harvest.

yeah mine is trimed and hanging as we speak, but didn't know if i should let it hang until the stims snap or just bend somewhat without brakeing

might do the bag trick, but didn't know if this was the census on RIU

so you only cure for a day or two, i thought the census was to cure for about a month?

i let it dry til the stems snapped once cuz thats what alot of people say but it was WAY too dry imo, it never cured up right after that.

make sure to move the buds around in the bag and or in the jar like once aday so the buds dry evenly and to check for mold

no problem, glad to help. yeah my cure time is from 2-5 days but....im using cfl's so i dont get huge buds and i know that cuts down on the dry and cure time.

I used cfls all the way thru my grow

about 265 watts of them with different kelvins

does this speed up the drying and curing time???????????????????????

dude, just chill out and try out some different things you like. You've had plenty of suggestions, now run with them. CFL's result in smaller fluffier buds, so yeah in theory they can dry quicker. You should be golden drying 4-6 days and curing for a couple weeks. I personally don't hang and do a screen in a bin with a small fan. That way it can stay in with my plants where I have odor control. Once I have some that snap and some that don't, it's to the jars. GL and enjoy your hard work!

as far as i know, the only way to get that awesome bud taste is to wait for all the chloro in the plant to go away. And it takes a month+

if anyone has hastened the process by soaking the buds in dist water then drying them out again plz post
