Harvesting question - finding the buds vs. the leaves

Hi,

This is my first time growing, and there's a very basic thing about harvesting that I don't understand.

I had a plant that honestly wasn't doing very well. By all indications, though, it seemed ready for harvest (had been about 2 months of flowering, plenty of amber hairs).

See the attached pictures. Here's what I don't get -- to me, everything looks like leaves, not buds. Where are the buds?? Should I just trim away all of the leaves as close to the stem as I can, and anything else is the bud? I'm very confused as I don't see anything that looks like actual buds.

I know this is probably a very stupid question, but I'm not really sure what to do.

Thanks!

Your buds are there, you just have small nugs, I know what you mean by it looks like leaf. All those little leaves with the hairs on are still good to smoke and you have trimmed them as much as you will want to. You will need to look at your setup and feed schedule to work out why you have such small nugs but what you have there is all smokable.

Thanks. Like I said, the plant wasn't doing well, so I'm nto surprised that it produced really small nugs. I learned a lot this time, though, and hopefully next time it will turn out much better!

Thanks again!
