Harvesting

I looked through FAQ and really couldnt find what I was looking for.. When it comes to harvest what exactly should I be doing?

Should I clip the plant below the lowest branch and then hang it from the lower end straight or hang branch by branch and if so far thats right... then what? Anybody care to elaborate for me please? Thank you..

you could either hang the whole thing or clip it up into individual buds and let them hang upside to dry. After that you would most likely want to cure your bud, and then its smoke time.

lol, you can do many things; you can hang the hole plant by hooking a branch on a string, you can cut branches and hang individually, you can cut individual buds and place them on a screen.... boundless possibilities ;)

but, there is one other aspect to consider; trimming. you can trim before or after the plant is dry. you would remove all the large fan leaves, but if you choose to trim once dry, your leaves will dry around the buds, encasing them and protecting them.

if you trim first, your buds will dry a bit faster, but will be more easily damaged, and trichomes more easily ruptured.

I appreciate the speedy comments.. So give or take.. after I hang it at the time I do.. How long should I expect to let it go this way until curing time? ty

buds should be almost 75% lighter in weight , the branches all the way to the top bud should be able to snap and u can hear it snap - it takes about 7 - 10 days maybe a lil more

Do you have a preference? I get the feeling it is hard to trim them once they dry and that the leaves that dried around the buds are harsh..?

pruning should be done once u cut her down remove all the big leaves and little leaves they also have some machines out there that do it for u like the aardvark - which removes all leaves big and small without takin bud. I personally like to trim myself its something i enjoi to do i guess. after that then u can let them dry like i said time is about 5 - 15 days thats more broad , when the stem snaps when u try to bend it its usually good if u got any speculations about it not being done then let it sit for a couple more days wont hurt anything Idle situations - 50 - 60% Humidity w 65 f - 85 f

the bigger leaves are easily removed when dry, the smaller chaff is a little bit more difficult. i realy have no preference, i've done it both ways. depends on how sore my hands are ;)

trimming before drying makes for prettier buds in the end. mpo

do u have pruning snips ? I got small bonsai tree pruning scissors i just like the weight and they are made for hrs of work on bonsai trees. There very comfortable in the hand. They are what i use for the smaller leaves ur talkin about like the ones that you are talkin about.

yeah I have some bonsai snips myself and I have to say I enjoy cutting the babies too. It is like a right of passage for the journey the ladies and I have made. This time around I will cut before I hang . I did it the other way and had a lot of trimming to do while it was dry. I just want to see the other way to do it.

good luck to you~

I want to know during the flowering stage how will I know which one of the buds are male or female, and which one do i trim as to ensure I get top of the line and not regular plants? pics are welcome,
