Harvesting

where exactly do you get the bud you smoke off the plant? is it in the middle of the plant behind the leaves? this will be my first time harvesting as i got my medical card a while ago and my plant is finally ready.

and does every strain start like this,

and develop into this over the growing period?

(not that exact same, but the same 'structure')

the bud of the female plant forms a few weeks after you'll see what are called preflower calyxes forming at the base of each internode (where each fan leaf connects to larger stem). soon after this, new growth will fly out of these nodes and buds will form at each internode base, and at the tip of each growth off of the preflower.
so the more internodes you have and the closer they are together, the more dense, sticky, highly potent and resinous cannabis you will harvest from you beautiful and wonderful cannabis plant :D
here is a picture of one of my autos about 2 and a half weeks into flowering a while ago. the first picture is some of the newer lower branching. you can see each pistil mass that will eventually turn into a bud, and the second is the top of the plant.

So basically the bud you want to cut out and smoke is hidden by leaves you trim? and those looks nice :D i can't wait until mine are ready to harvest :D

If you can't spot the bud from the leaves, you have a terrible plant. Either that or it never went on the 12 hour flowering cycle and just vegged the entire time.
