Harvesting

Killer cola...

Yea, when there is no more or not many white hairs then it's pretty much ready... What strain is it?

Trichs aren't the only way to tell if a plant is ready, it's a good indicator, but not the be all and end all.
Pistils turning dark, new pistils not showing the same vigor, and calyxes swelling (drawing the pistils back into the bud) all show readiness.
But if you think it's done, generally give it another week.

Flush your plant with water and no nutrients for the final 2 weeks of your grow. This will make sure any flavor from the nutrients you are adding don't affect the final flavor of your cannabis.

I'm not sure there is any actual science behind this idea though.

Trichome coloration is the suggested way to decide harvest times. But you can be just about as reliable by judging the pistils colors. At weeks 5-6 you should see some of the higher pistils starting to turn from white to orange to real dark. When most of the pistils have passed through the white stage you are close to harvest time. You can also squeeze a bud every other day or so and mentally keep track of how sticky the buds are.

Good luck, BigSteve.
