Has any one been to Belize?

Okay...so hide the ta-tas when getting a hotdog! LOL. I am unfortunately used to that. He would have to be very quick to cop a feel of my girls! And wow...quite the sunburn! Ouch. I would like to go fishing and exploring while I am there. I have a friend in Guatemala and she has a beach house in San Pedro. She is going to come up while I am there. I mostly want a hammock, smoke, beer, and I have a couple Stephen king books I am bringing. I will never do resorts again unless they are 'adult only'. Learned my lesson the hard way. I am definitely not a 'family resort' kind of girl. Too chaotic and noisy for me. Wow...I cannot wait for December 14th! :D
Thanks again RPM371 for all the great tips and info. I truly appreciate it!

Wow, can't believe I didn't realize you were a girl. My bad! I've never been to San Pedro, but heard it's beautiful. Take pictures of everything. Lots and lots of pictures. Enjoy your trip and know I'm jealous as hell.

Yup...I be a girl! No worries. It is fairly anonymous on here until people find their comfort zone. It takes me awhile to be comfortable on forums. Hence the generic photo. I dreamed of the ocean last night. It was calling my name. We are old friends. ;)

Seems 2 to 1 is pretty high priced. Is that in the expat traps? I bet $1 USD goes much further outside the traps, no?

It's a fixed exchange rate country wide, $1US = $2BZ. It's not like Mexico where you can leave the Tourist Zone and find a better exchange. You might be able to find better prices outside the expat areas, but there's not a lot of souvenirs to buy there. Beer and local booze are cheap. Belikin isn't bad either.

When I went to El Salvador, the ex-pats told me that the easiest (and apparently safest) way to get smoke when traveling was to make friends with the cooks and hotel staff. Less chance of a set up on the beach by some random, shady character. It seemed to work fine, as I saw weed everywhere at the surf hostel where I stayed, and I didn't hear of any busts.

Course, it was the crappiest weed I've seen since the 70's -- looked like dried lawn clippings! I have no idea of the prices, since I was supplying the Bombay Sapphire, and someone else produced the smoke.

Have a great time in Belize! I wish I could get back to Central America one of these days.....

Must see

Lots of great stuff to see in and around the region , But never forget that you are in a third world country where men kill for what we call garbage

Well...yes. We went fishing and snorkling on 2 different Cayes. The one I remember is 'Wild Orchid Caye'. Great weed. No mosquitoes though. I guess I was lucky. Just don't get me started on the damn sandfleas!
