Says it pulls 300w at the wall so was considering using 2 of them (for 600w) in a 4x4 tent on plants with a 3 week Veg period from clone. I've used CFL and HID before but this will be my first time trying some LEDs. After the first grow I'd like to build a 16 light COB set-up (considering CXM-22's at 55w ea), but that simply isn't in the budget right now as I put together this new area from scratch.

id build a smaller HQ rig and expand it later as opposed to buying that and throwing it in the trash 3 months later

Blurple light cobs aren't as good as white ones

65 lumens per watt for white-light cobs? Save your money.

Seller says core coverage is 4 square feet. Take $400 and buy a 300w driver, 6 sinks, 6 cobs, and DIY, will cover 8 sq/ft easy. Run it in half the tent then build a second one when you have the funds.

65 LPW isnt bad actually for blurple... but looking at the spectrum it's white, looks similar to 4000K 90CRI, blue spectrum peaking at 100%, red peak at around 630nm. Nice spectrum if it isn't a BS chart they threw up. 65 LPW for white is really bad though. A decent 300w DIY build will easily provide more light than 2 of those put together. I wouldn't waste my money on them.

Yeah, I agree with the other posters, you'd be better off with just about anything else, even HID. For the 3 bills you'd drop of two of those junkers, you can pick up five Samsung F series 4 foot double row strips and a couple of inexpensive power supplies to drive them. Fill that tent with quality, efficient light.

i'm considering maybe doing a 4 cxm-22 build at 75w each for 300w instead of these lights... but i've never used cobs before and am not sure what kind of square footage four cxm-22's at 75w can cover. i don't do very large plants, they're about 18" when i go into flower.
