Has anyone tried Walmart 2' hyper tough led grow light or ocean state job lot 4" grow lights

My job lot lights were labeled full spectrum ultraviolet but they were 8/1 red to blue but coupled with the Walmart lights i was getting more like 4/1 and that was very efficient for vegging when i purchase a quality unit it's going to have to go beyond the full spectrum to range from 350nm-750nm as all of the new science concurs with what I suspected from the start of this indoor adventure "well.... the sun puts out a whole lot more light than visible spectrum and plants don't have eyes. What about everything else between infrared and gamma?" turns out plants need everything that's not damaging including far red and uva .stands up to scrutiny.
No light now or ever can do what the sun does. All we can do is give them what we can.

That's a total misrepresentation of that article, disingenuous at best. It comes down to 'watts are an over simplification'. Which if you've paid any attention to any of the substantive light discussion (hint, there's a sub forum for it), you'd know. In fact, many of the points made in that article bolster what most of us have been saying here.

For those playing along at home and want to see the actual page, it's here. Funny that the OP didn't bother to include it. ;)

Legit lighting companies give you all the info about the lamp and their efficiency and spectrum.

For example these are what I use:
HLG_225_report 1.jpg

HLG_225_report 2.jpg

HLG_225_report 3.jpg

Feel free to post up the data on the lights you're using. Watts are not a lie, they're a single information point. And they 'count' along with other information.

1 watt led =80% light 20% heat 5watt led =50% light and 50%% heat there is no industry standard for labeling information and light manufacturers lie to sell lights I'm just going with the facts so 50 1 watt leds will produce much more light than 10 5 watt leds that's math and you can't argue with that add it up conclusion watts are misleading at best and light manufacturers are relying on that to sell you their latest product regardless of your actual needs

You're speaking like there's literally 3 types of LEDs produced across the industry, a 1w, a 3w and a 5w. That's not reality.

I've been objective and fact checked everything i didn't start this thread because i thought i had good lights and discovered some super lightning secret i asked if anyone had experience with a very specific light what I received was stubborn ignorant rhetoric and very little helpful feedback thank you. With the 22 hours I've spent researching cannabis specific lightning i feel that I have enough knowledge to illuminate a space adequately i wonder about others who are less objective but I can ponder that without attacking anyone

I understand Noone wants to be wrong I'm just presenting some factual information if you're goal is light and not heat you may want to rethink your strategy more watts per diode = exponentially more heat there is no escaping the facts

That is maybe one of the dumbest "articles" I've ever read. Your lights are still garbage. Anybody that has actually used them is probably too embarrassed to respond to this thread.

You should post this in the LED subsection. Everybody over there could use a good laugh.

Not it's actually one of the most objective and I'm sorry you didn't like it best of luck with the stubbornness.light manufacturers have your loyalty and that's working for you I'm confident that I have enough OBJECTIVE information to draw my own conclusions I'm gonna keep flowering 4 plants in my basement for myself and my wife and improve and refine my operation over time. Meanwhile I'll remain objective and fact check everything. I'm certain that objectivity is key.

I have lights from several different companies(HLG, Meiju, Kingbrite, Timber, Optic). I've also built several different cob bars.

The fact that you think you know anything about LEDs is adorable. Again, go post this info in the LED subsection - it's in the Indoor Growing section. I'll make the popcorn.

Does this make you feel less stupid about buying shit lights? So your 12 watt leds have more power than my 300watt light? Dumb as fuck you are.

Thanks again you're the best why are you so offended by this? I understand you're a bully and and want people to cower and bow to you but you got the wrong guy. I'm that guy! That's going to follow you to your house after you cut me off in the roundabout cause I got nothing better to do than to bring to your attention that you aren't special and that the law applies to you as well I got the wit and intelligence to support any argument I make and telling me that you got a bunch of expensive lights just tells me you have more money than brains. And since I don't engage in battle with someone who's unarmed our battle of wits is over. Byeeee.

Here's a tip do you see the enormous cooling apparatus on that how many of your watts are being converted to heat and not light hmmmmm. Wasteful and inefficient. Sure watts tell you how much power you are pulling from the wall but how much of that energy is converted to light is determined by other factors including diode efficiency fact. Check it. Again being stubborn is no advantage and you have proven that your knowledge is lacking
