Has lumatek fixed there problems?????

Wanted to buy a lumatek ballast set-up now im finding that they r cuasing alot of problems blow bulbs burning out quick and can cause fires...hortilux bulbs burn out in a matter of days maybe months....is anyone using a lumatek 400w system with a hortilux bulb?????any problems or not please let me know....

really.....is that just the 400? had a 600 a little while..ok so far.noticed a few places doing cheap 400s ....maybe dats why................

The reviews where actually all about 600s but didnt know if it was just the ballast themselves..are u using a hortilux bulb...im only doing 1 or 2 waterfarms no need for more watts..

I heard that was a flaw with hortilux bulbs not being compatible with ramped up digital ballasts. I heard hortilux fixed the compatibility issue.

do u think a phantom ballast is better?

not had a problem with my lumatek yet, only seen 1 bad report, guess they all get problems at some point,, its got a 5 year gaurantee so all good.

I have a lumatek 400 and no problems at all. I'd gladly buy another.

I'm running a 1000w hortilux on a 600w lumatek and I'm having no problems.

mine went last week. will i was changeing from mh to hps. i wont buy a new one to hard to fix it. and change out parts also.

how about a quantum ballast basically the same thing but has fan to keep it cool but those tend to break i guess....Who knows guess they all have probs....my prob is that i have to order them so returns will be a biiiitch and i would be screwddd

I have a 400w Lumatek w/ a hortilux MH bulb....no problems at all, and I have had it for over a year.

It's the high frequency of digital ballasts causing the 600w to blow because the frequency causes bulb resonance. It happens in all bulbs, but specifically the 600w because of the length of the bulb coupled with the high frequency is a weak spot. Kinda like running your finger around a wine glass...not all will break, but some will. The new bulbs designed for digital ballasts have been constructed to resist the resonance.

I just got a Lumatek 600w with a 400mh Digilux bulb running on the 400w setting and have no problems. I will be getting a Digilux 600hps for flower.

No doubt...i just have to make my damn mind up....beaners r on there way from the tude..its either gonna be the 400 lumatek with cool tude for 239 or a 600w quantum with adjust a wing reflector fro 280...let me know what u guys think

doesnt put the light out very good........

but if im in an enclosed closet mylar if its cool like it says its supposed to be u can get the light closer than if u have a regular hood..Is this true???
