Have A? About Auto Flower Plants

I have haze autos and 3 ufos from tude...i know that they can grow on any light cycle but was wondering if its ok to turn the lights off after 12 hrs becuz i can always run 12 straight hrs but some days i can give them more time 5-6 more hrs but i have to shut the lights off after 12hrs and then can turn them back on 3or 4 hrs later for 5-6 more hrs is this okay to do or should i just stay with the 12/12 all the way thru...i cant always run 18/6 so thats why im just doing 12/12 wanna watch my light for safty...let me know if u can anwser my ???

I don't understand why you can't run your light on a consistent schedule. Don't do 12/12 give it as much light as possible.

12/12 will suck with an auto, they recommend 24/0 or 20/4 most of the time all the way through.

Becuase im not able to and they can go from 12/12 all the way thru but is okay to add light without stunt their growth...5 days from seed their 3-5 inches tall and first set of leavse forming nicely so cant be to bad just wondering if anyone has tried to give extra lighting when able without hurting them

i know any abnormalities in the light schedule is gonna stress your plant somewhat, and stress like that doesnt benefit anyone, i dont know the ins and outs of constantly changing the light cycle when "your able to", but i can tell you sir it is not the best way to do things

if the plant needs 24/0 20/4 light cycles and you only give it 12/12 with a random showering of a few extra hours whenever you feel like it....

Lol autos can go on any light cycle 12/12 18/6 20/4 u shouldnt ever do 24/7 they need darkness...i guess ill find out

I figured it would prolly stressem and these things aint gonna be dwarfs there all 5 inches tall with leaves forming and today is day 6 from seed..with my abnormal lighting scheduale

I have a couple autos on 12/12 because theyre mixed in with a regular photoperiod strain and had to start flowering. They will be fine under that schedule, flowering weeks may be a little longer due to less light and yield will drop some, but since you can't do 18/6 or more, stay on 12/12 and don't play around with adding more light at random times, if anything increase the light output during the 12 hours on ie buy more lights.

U have to remember to they dont have veg state its stright to flowering so 12/12 is flowering cycle right???

not true.... im 3 weeks into 3 different strains of autos and they do have a veg period. none of them have shown signs of flowering yet but should soon, but no they dont flower right from seed

what you have to UNDERSTAND then remember, is that autos flower at a certain age, not from what light cycle they are under. Thus why they ARE NOT considered photoperiod plants. they will start flowing at a certain age determined by the strains genetics. that is why you cant clone autos, because the clone is the same age as the mother and they will both start flowering around the same age.

and an irregular light schedule WILL stress the plant in negative ways, nothing that could lead to more yield...

i must admit once you have a solid regular mother plant, you can flower out clones faster than an autoflower cycle would take...

i'm betting you can clone them....notoriously difficult i'd say, but not impossible...no point in trying after it flowers though
it'd stall if you took them at the right moment, and a perpetual grow could be accomplished
....providing you don't have a day job or any other hobbies anyways

yeah i know im doing the autos becuase they where freebies from tude..I have 2 industrial plants from dinafem, 1 california hash plant from dinafem, 1 sweet deep grape fruit dinafem, and 5 trainwreck from greenhouse all fems..waiting for next go around..

well so far not appearing to have been stressed by my lighting schedule but imma try to get it closer to 16/8 well see when do i need to start adding the nutes have flora nova grow they are in day 6 from seed im thinking the next couple of days if not sooner...they have been getting hygrozyme from day 1..Let me know and how much ppm to start at..My ph'd wated is 6-6.5 and ppm are at 210..

today is the 8th day i think all r starting 3rd tier but leaves r remaining small i think maybe not to bad i have the lights on 20/4 now so hopefully this helps..Just added nutes yesterday and had the ppm to 250 used bottled spring water not my normal tap this time..I have 5 plants that r wanting to grow fine the other 4 r growing sideways..the stem goes out instead of up but the leaves look just as good as the rest why is this..Do i need to stake them up and with what would i use to this??Any help would be awsome...
