Have you ever put plants out and never checked them once?

Just curious if anyone has ever had any success putting plants outside somewhere they have limited access too. I have 5 plants vegged about a month and then took them out. That was a month and a half ago. I cannot check on them without making it into some sort of stealthy night operation. What are the chances they are even alive? A friend and I will be checking on them hopefully the first or 2nd week of September in hopes of gauging a possible harvest time, but my expectations are very low. We have not been able to water once, but it has rained almost every week at least once. It has also hailed, haha. I am def going to get a picture when we get out to check. Anyone have any sucsess with zero plant care outdoors? I did treat the area around them heavily with deer stop and crushed hot peppers.

I would say (at least in northeast) the chances of them surviving and producing are about 3 in 10. If they get big they could fall over, dry up, wilt, starve to death, get eaten to death by insects. ect.. Althoughthe times I have done it at least,, the ones that did survive came out amazing for never being checked.

Yeah. Ended up with a load of seeds cause I never killed the males. Was excellent thee following season though. If they're in ground it'd up your survival chances. Skip taking your "friend" though. Taking a friend will cut your chances in half before harvest. Just go at it alone.

I'm with MonkeyGrinder on that, Never bring a friend. I wouldn't even recommend bringing family, not that they will def take it but sometimes it's hard not to talk or brag about nice plants. I've only ever had trouble bringing anyone, always much more successful alone for sure. Anyway Good luck dude!

I will dig this thread up when I go get them. I dug one in. Then buried two in a bit of a hillside. Another was in a 15g fabric pot. My friend has been out and saw them once. And when I say my friend I mean my best friend, since we were in diapers. Closer than family, he has a key to my indoor, for emergency. Anyways I am going to see if we can go "hunt" on the land soon. I am realizing tho that im the only one to get the job done.

About 6 or more years ago, I planted some baby plants and tended them in the wild every few days until flowering... Removed the males, then left them to do their thing... I sorta "gave them back" to Mother Nature, so to speak, to let Her decide what to do with them.

Well, she let them survive and flower, although there was honestly less than an eighth on one plant, and maybe a quarter or so on the other. I believe I planted them in, like, early July.

No biggie. Just thought I'd offer my experience with "putting plants out and never checking them once".

My grow this year i have only checked on the plants once since planted (about 6 weeks or so) 3 out of 4 were perfectly fine. Nice big fan leaves beginning to flower (1 female and 1 male and 1 possible hermie) the 4th plant was no where to be found, didnt even look like it was dug up. I was actually surprised how much they grew being completely at mother natures wrath. Im in the North east USA btw

Well I checked them and they were there. Two were male and about 5' pollen blasted everywhere. I made sure to wash my clothes and shower when I came home. The duckfoot was seeded and had produce almost no buds so far but had mature seeds inside. So I guess I made my first plant cross and got some free beans.
