Hello guys,
My plants leaf tips started going brown, then a bottom leaf turned yellow now I've got hard brown tips all leaves are yellowing and I cant stop it... I changed all the water and cut back on nutes ( 1/4 reccomended dose in there)because I thought I had excess nitrogen with no avail... any thoughts?

Changed water? Is this hydro? A few grow details please. Pic finally came up. Have you checked the roots? pH? Getting swings in it or the EC?

Hey bud, so I'm running a rapid led light over a deep water culture system, roots look good, there is nutrients staining of course but other wise good. I'm running advanced nutrients ph perfect line and never had the need to check ph before so I never got a pen.. probably have a test kit for my salt water tank that I could check with. The very tips were brown for a week so I dialed back the nutrients.. came back from 2 days away and one yellow leaf turned into this.

How high is that light? Suggest a decent EC meter and using EC instead of PPM. Hanna makes good ones at a reasonable price.

Light is about 12" away from the top.. unfortunately it's as high as I can go.. do you think i t would cause this damage? It seems to be ascending and not descending from the top

So I red-applied the mix last night, the micro has all nutrients such as calcium, mag and zinc I think I was over zealous on my assessment of excess nitrogen because since cutting jute things have gotten worse.im almost sure I'm seeing lack of micro nutrients now..

Tried everything I can, I think I fucked her beyond repair since I'm mid flower, I'm just gonna let it keep going and see if I can salvage any bud out of it.probably going to lose all of my fan leaves slowly but I've flushed with no avail water change with clean nutes.. ph is good.

Yea them fans are mostly all on their way to drop. There’s no saving them. Should be able to go for a while still before every one drops and the smaler leaves get too damaged. I’d imagine you can still get some pretty good smoke

I sometimes feed close to full strength veg nutes for first month of flower and don’t get nitrogen toxic or stalled bud production. Perhaps I go a bit too long sometimes but plants look great and I don’t have to worry about early fade and struggling to bring them to the finish line. Your plants aren’t toxic.

When the smaller leaves start to drop do you think I should pull it? This teaches me. I was thinking i could start growing again after 6 years and have an easy ride... first one allways has to mess up for me lol.

You can let a decent amount of smaller leavesView attachment 4298590 but I wouldn’t push it too much.. here’s a pic of a jack 47 that was pretty used up at harvest. View attachment 4298588
I upped nutes prior to cutting them down and it got worse. Because I though it was a deficiency.
You chopped already?

Was looking at the root mass seemed too small so I put a new bubbler in 2 days ago. Roots are growing much better and plant has actually improved. I guess I learned my lesson

Are you doing a grow journal? Make sure this is written down and learn from it. Sticks in the brain better when you can go back and look at it. Things that worked well and that didn’t. Especially the bad shit.

A great chess master once said, “l learn more from 1 loss than a 100 victories”. Why? Because when you do a journal and you fuck up, you can pinpoint the issue that led to it, and learn from it. Just because you have a so called successful grow, doesn’t mean you didn’t mess up. A lot of subtle mistakes escape our eye.

Hope she makes it through.
