Yea I was thinking bad seeds too. I had the same thing happen the last time I bought seeds. So I emailed the seed bank and told them my seeds were crushed when I got them. So they sent me new seeds and the same thing again. They start to sprout, them just stop. They crack open but no taproot.
yea, I am just tired of buying seeds. The last seeds I bought, the company replaced them. Now the same thing happend to the new seeds also.
Starting seeds in a paper towel is one way to germinate, don't know if I would call it the correct way. Call me silly, but I put a seed in the dirt. I have never had 3 seeds not germinate. I've had a seed not germinate, or be a weakling when it broke through the soil, but to have multiple seeds not germinate has never happened to me. As a farmer, I plant billions of seeds every year, no paper towels involved.

Thats why you put the paper towel between two paper plates, then it doesnt dry out. So its not crappy for germinating. The only thing crappy is your critical thinking skills and your advice.
How is that even relevant to his question? Do all your billions of seeds also survive? Doubt it. If he had billions of MJ seeds it would be more practical to throw them in dirt as well. When you only have a few seeds more care should be taken.
98 percent germination rate. Seed is tested and certified before being planted. Germinating in paper towels isn't taking care, it's just another way to do it. Saying paper towels is one way to do it but I wouldn't call it the correct way is not bad advice, it's just advice you don't like. You wanna use paper towels, go ahead.
