Health Canada said they won't renew my Production License???

I submitted my renewal forms and they received it on 30Sep2013,
They said they sent me a request for more info on 30OCt2013, which I never received. The said the package was at the post office for 10 days then it was returned to them. I called them today and they told me that they cannot renew my PPL because it expired on 24Oct2013. Even though my renewal was received on 30Sep2013. To me they should just resend out the documents for the info requested. This sounds very unfair to me. Is there anything I can do?

Seriously? Hire a lawyer to pursue a renewal that expires on March 31, 2014? It won't even get to court in time.
It appears it would have only expired in 2014 had he received the renewal, his current license expired in 2013.

Because I never received the package asking for more info , they said they closed my request to renew, 10 day window while it was at the post office.
Also nothing changed on my application exact same info, you would think they would at least mail it out again?

This is classic Health Canada behavior, pure obstructionists, without remorse, they saw an opportunity to string you and others out, leaving you no options, unless you are rich and can sue on principal alone. HC doesn't like marihuana, or the people who do.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it is better to realize it and begin moving toward another solution now. Good luck Manofculture.

well I read Monofculture's first post and i'm sorry to say that HC is completely within their right.
if your PPL was to expire on Oct24/2013 and you sent your renewal Sept30/2013 than you are already
out of tolerance as you had to have the renewal in 10 weeks before expiry. so if they sent you docs or not
via courier/xpress or whatever means nada as you had 2 strikes on your renewal t this point..
1) renewal not sent 10 weeks before expiry 2)mistake or error on forms

on the contrary for me I have just received my renewal for PPL and ATP.
my current licenses expire at the end of jan2014 so I sent in my renewal (no changes from current)
in the first week of November as to be within the 10 week renewal period. now 3 weeks later
I have my renewals in hand.

what the renewals are for PPL is what we all figured the expiry day is not for a year from validity date but
until March 31, 2014 as marking the end of MMAR. the ATP is valid for possession until March 31, 2014
but is valid like before for 1 year from validity date for use to register with any LP under the MMPR, hence
in my case useable until jan 2015.

I had a similar problem. I had all my paperwork in by the end do August. Had a problem with a dg and had to revoke licence. Forged ahead with first pupl application, and was told at end of Oct. that I didn't have all paperwork in order. I protested fiercely, told them I had all the tracking numbers to prove it was sent and received on time. I eventually was granted a pupl and am happily growing my own meds now. I think that if you didn't have your renewal papers in 10 weeks before expiration, you are SOL my friend.

I have a question,I understand that they say it should be in 10 weeks before expiry, they received it on 01oct, 24 days to process, that wasn't the issue, they sent a requedt for more info to me but because I never received notice to pick it up at the post office it got sent back to HC, now they ate saying they won't renew it??? Sounds unfair to me.

The request for more info was their way of stalling the process. They requested the same document from my doctor 3 times. I asked what happened to the first 2 copies. Why you wouldn't have received it is a mystery. Unfair...you bet, anything you can do about it...probably not at this stage of the game.

They are sending me back the package is there any chance they will let me still renew if I resubmit it with the requested info?

ummm how can you renew....you expired oct 24/2013 correct?
you now fall under the MMPR so get a letter from your Doc and join one of the 3 LP's

No chance. They don't want you to use marihuana, much less grow it. They put out the pitfalls and caught you. They feel success with your case and are proud to have done their job. I'll say it again, Health Canada does not like marihuana and the people who do. Give up / move on.

But if conroy wins in court and of course it is a big if, then you could hire your lawyer and have H/C issue you new permits for personal growing. I'd keep your papers in a safe place and write down what they said to you so you don't forget...just in case an injunction is granted. None of us know yet whether this will happen or not. One can only hope but we will see eh!
