okay a few weeks back i left the lights too close overnight and it seemed to burn one of my plants. the leaves a wilted and new leaves started forming looking mangled if that makes any sense.. i tried to do some clipping of leaves here and there but i was worried about doing too much. it doesnt seem like anything is working and now one side of the top cola is leaning because there is full leaves and the other is mutated looking. weird shaped, wrinkled, etc. what im wondering is if i can clip the top off and start fresh. ive read about topping but i cant find any info on if i can clip the main stem very top of the plant. please respond back with any advice (if you can even understand what im describing lol)

i normally would have pics but im out and about and would really like some opinions

btw this is nirvanas black jack, about 1'-1.5' 4 weeks into veg

Sounds like it got a bit toasted. Yah, the new shoot will be deformed a bit. But, nothing to worry about.
Yes, you can top her if you like. That is up to you.

Just give it some time and the new growth will eventually resume to normal growth. Where the plant is heat damaged, it won't look pretty but it won't hurt anything. Cutting or trimming will just shock the plant more and delay additional growth. Show some patience....
