Heat Control

Hi All .... temps have been stable in my closet grow up until this week. We saw some 90 degree days and I do not have AC. I run my lights opposite of day hours come on at 6PM off at 12PM next day.

Temps last night averaged around 92 in the closet even with two fans going as well as 6” exhaust on full blast.

Any tips or tricks to help mitigate this? 90 degree days are uncommon but 80-85 for a week or two isn’t. Worried about the upcoming summer months. Is this even a concern?

I take it you are exhausting into the same place as you are drawing fresh air?
No exhaust goes up to the attic right at a vent.

I’ll likely put some form of AC in for the summer months but form previous experience it doesn’t cool much more than the room it’s in.

Unfortunately, I've found that unless the lung room temps are warmer than 70 deg it's damn near impossible for passive cooling to be enough.

What type of lights do you have?

Tap black box LEDs rates at 450 W a piece which I’m sure they’re not pulling. I think they’re Viparspectra or something.

I was able to get temps to mid 80s and plants are looking much better. I put a 4 X 2 X 5 tent in my closet. Just left the tent door open and killed one of lights for now. That helped quite a bit.

I can tell you it's worth the coin for a Trane heat pump. Leave the door open at night. You can get a water fan that moves the air but it really doesn't cool much.
