Heat issues with fluorescents

I live in the desert so temps will be getting really hot soon. I was thinking of running my flowering cycle during night hours to keep temps down, but the electricity usage will not look good. So I am reconsidering doing flowering during the day.

I was wondering: do you guys think lots of fluorescents will put out enough heat to be concerned about? My setup is 4 8-tube T5's (4ft) Total wattage is about 1730w.

That depends on the room and ventilation. In a walk-in closet, the 200 watts I have raise the ambient temperature by 5-10 degrees with the door shut.

Fluorescent lights put out next to no heat and won't be of any real concern. A bit of ventilation and air movement and you'll be fine.
If your still concerned about the heat then buy fluorescents with electronic ballasts, this way there no induction to generate heat.

Best of luck with your purchase :)

Yeah my t-5's don't put off much heat at all. 4ft 4 bulb heat isn't a problem to manage and the electric isn't bad at all!

I've been using floros for a closet grow and heat hasn't been an issue until I added some cfl....I also have a T5 4x2 and it adds no heat at all. T5 is great....my plants really took off when I added it.
