Heat Issues

So I have a 750W HPS that I will being using for the flowering stage. I started to use it for the veg stage and it was three feet above the plant and was still getting way to hot 90-99 degrees and the plants were getting burned. I changed my lighting for the veg stage and all is well but I will still need to use it for the flower stage. So my question is how can I keep it cool when flowering and the plant will end up being around 2-3 feet from the plant.

Set up
Grow Tent - 2'W x 4'L x 5'H
Two 8" duct fans
One 6" duct fan
4 plants

This is my first grow and from what have read it will grow up to double the size after I start flowering. I plan on starting the flower stage at a foot and a half so that it wont be over 3' tall.

ok next question, will it hurt my system to put a 600W in my fixture? I read that you should only use a 600W bulb with a 600W system but ive never read anything saying why. My system is for a 1000W bulb but I thought that would be to much.

Yes that could hurt your system and it could be potentially dangerous.

I picked this section because it said led and "OTHER LIGHTING" so I thought this was the right spot. There were only three different sections under indoor growing.

Bonjour
Would you consider spend 350 $ in a very efficient light?
Do you want to enter 21st century?
Switch to cxb 3590...a 240w (real watt!)panel will give you the best result in your tent size...2x4=8sq/ft...30sq/ft for bloom...8×30=240w...!
An Meanwell hlg-240-1400b + 5x cxb 3590 3500k 36V cd will make you happy for less than 400 $ and will last 100000h!!!
Have a great day ★

I'm thinking a dimmable ballast would be a good idea. Maybe solve the temp problem with an air cooled hood and separate vent fan but it might be more light than the plants can use either way, at least in the center of the tent. I'm coming up with over 1600 PPFD and would be higher in the center.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to buy a new fixture and tent when I get ready to flower. I want a spot for vegging and for flowering so I can cycle them. Thanks for all the input, I figured it would be better to ask now before I have any problems when I start to flower.

The plant is going to stop growing at a certain height determined by genetics. Veg one for 2 months properly and it is not going to double in flower.

mothman can't veg a plant for 2 mouths in veg, the tents only 5 ft high (same as my flower room)

I would top and lst 4 plants in that space and flower them when there 6" high so they finsh less than 2ft high (3ft high including plant pot) or its not going to work.
Anyway a wide bushy plant 2ft high will give you the best yeild you can get from any plant, ( under 400w hps)

Good news is you already have a flowering light and a veg tent... Now all you need is a veg light and flower tent. I run two of the 4' x 2' x 5' tents both with a 4 bulb t5 fixture (soon to be replaced with dimmed cxb3070 cobs) one for moms the other for clones and short veg. I flower in a m2 tent with a 600 hps till my Cree cob light is built...
