heat stress

Ok so I have a major problem. I have a 3 foot wide 2.5 feet deep 6 foot tall cabinet. It is lined with aluminum foil, no wrinkles or anything, I know somewhat cheap. I have one good plant growing in a aerogarden base with 4 inch airstone. Plant was doing great with the aerogarden lights, but i got a 250 hps. I took the aerogarden lights out put in the hps a 100cfm outtake fan 80 cfm intake. I got a 7 inch tabletop fan inside on high blowing from floor to ceiling. I have a 4 inch fan blowing across the top of the light, it is not a air cooled reflector. My humidity is 35-42% but my temps will not come below 89 during day and that is leaving door open. If I close the door it goes up to round 97. My fan leaves are droopy as can be with black spots all over and dry feeling. The plant is growing majorly still from all the nodes. Those leaves look and feel great. My ph is 7.1 so no problem there i know it is heat. I dont know how to bring temp down anymore though should i just increase to a 250 cfm outtake or just more intake little confused on where to begin there. Or should i do higher cfm outtake fan and do passive airtake holes on bottom? Any advice is helpful.

aluminum foil will help keep your heat in the grow area, its no good. just try and get some myler or go without anything before using foil. your probably going to have to upgrade your intake, make sure you are not just blasting that hot air from your grow right back out into your room, otherwise your intake will just bring in warm air. If you havnt already, vent the outtake into a wall space or up into the attic(might need a SOK) but thats another story....anyway just make sure you vent that hot air out totally. That should do it, and if you add a bigger intake since your hood isnt cooled that will help too. GL

or should i just add a a/c to the room because this is kind of a check everything out and work kinks out because i already have a bigger box built also so if I am having problems with this cabinet even with the door open is it safe to say the room will need to stay cooler it only gets down to 82 at night which is still kinda high
Unless its a cold day out.

outtake goes through attic out roof so that is done did think same thing with foil just was in position couldnt get mylar quick enough, plant was given to me didnt have much money at time. To busy buying a bag lol. if i increase my intake should i also increase my outtake i have 2 250cfm inline duct fans. They are for my other box just thought they would be overkill here

you will have to have a air cooled reflector, and a separate exhaust. You can leave your intake passive. Your PH should be between 5.5 and 6.5. You will need a larger exhaust fan also. Are the fans that you are using for intake/exhaust muffin fans? You should get your self a 6" inline fan for your new air cooled reflector, and ditch the rest of your fans, problem solved! This is the industry standard fan...Not cheep but quite and reliable..GL

Paint the walls flat white, drop the foil stat. Over kill, no such thing! Anyhow, you obviously need to do something.

I have 2 computer fans mounted together fo intake. 1 bathroom fan for exhaust. As far as air cooled reflector, cant do it due to finances now. This is kind of a trial run in a way. I have a bigger box going to go in the room. Just dont have the money for the light. I am getting a sunsystem 7, it has a 400w mh and a 600w hps. Thats another story though. I do have 2 250 cfm inline duct fans. I was just conserned they wouldnt fit in this small box. So you think I should mount them in this thing? 1 for intake 1 for outake?

Put the fan out side the box, by making a box for the fan..I used Hard Board insulation once with fiberglass insulation for the stuffing. I would think just one of the fans would be enough if you had a aircooled reflector, but maybe try just one for exhaust and keep your intake passive and see what happens. Remember that your intake has to be twice the size of your exhaust. you can use lots of different filter types to achieve this. Just staple on a paper filter, it will be like having your door open.

how long would i need to keep the plant out of the box to let all the fumes settle
down.
For the paint? I personally would just go to a hydro shop and buy some panda film @ a $1 a 1'x10'. usually they will just cut you what you need off a roll they have in stock, just get how much it will take to cover up the walls. DCG

a diy cooltube will do wonders to help keep temps down, before i made mine i had similar issues, but now i am able to keep my 400w hps less than six inches from the top of my plants and my 2x2x6 grow room never goes above 78

which fan do you mean mount on outside? The intake? What I did was mounted the computer fans inside with a duct flashing mounted to outside put a screen in cut a paper furnace filter put it behind the screen to keep anything from going in it is all 6 inch duct work. if i mounted the inline infront of the screen in the existing duct work would that work just as well that is what i was going to do on the other box. My outtake is pretty much setup for me to just change fans out it already runs to my attic then out vent through roof. So instead of paint use panda film? Is it real good?

use your 250cfm fan for exhaust, use passive intake, if you run more then 10' of ducting to exhaust into the attic, you can run the second fan also at the end of the line. So have two fans on one exhaust line, but one at the beginning and the second at the end.

I think Panda film is the best...F mylar! to loud and gets dirty quick and never cleans up well.

yeah its about 2 feet into ceiling then 18'-20' to outvent ill hook the second in attic that is a good idea more power sucking out. But if it is shorter than 10' you think one is ok cause i can run it to a closer vent? Ill check that both out

The cool tube sounds confusing as heck to me. I mean I get it but dont know if i am truly that technically inclined. The 250w hps I got now is like a dinosaur. It is a hydro farm hallast is built into the hood one small vent has the glass in it but hey it was free Seriously thank you for the advice. I am going to get on the ball tommorrow and get this under control. I will also reread about the cool tube idea. One last thing because of the light style I have will there be additional wiring and stuff for the ballast to make it so it doesnt hang with it? Cant wait to get my new light.

No prob, I tried the AC route and even venting the heat from it out seperatly i found that it still created an anormous amount of heat so it kind of made it worse for me. Unless you could use a window unit, those are great. i tried a stand alon ac unit, and returned it for my 330 bucks.
