lol ganja , im running Co2, so my temps are fine ! what difference does it make wether my dark cycle is at night or day ? my room is sealed, not even a LED in there.

It's the TEMP isssue.... cant you see? If your offsetting the heat - that'd mean the temps are virtually the same ALL the time - it should be a fair amount cooler in the dark cycle.... and it would be if the dark cycle was at NIGHT.

yeah there is no difference...the point i think he was trying to make was....plants need a cool down period....so if its very freaking hot during the day, more than likely its really warm in their without the lights on......my cycle is same as yours...at night they are on, day time off...cab is sealed.....when lights are off its still cooler than on SO EITHER way we are BOTH simulating nature :weed:

anything more than 10degrees swing anyhow is not healthy

Peace

i understand the heat has lower during the night cycle, and it does, some days more than others with this heatwave were getting now, i have no option to run my light at night, i cant afford to have another 600 watts(AC) on my elec bill, running about 2kw as it is

My temps shot up to 88F today for some reason so I've been researching heat stress. I found this:

http://weedfarmer.com/growing_guide/temperature.php

It actually implies hotter is better, assuming the genetics of a plant is not a factor. It states that plants can not only survive at 95F, but also do quite well too. Not sure if there's any truth to it or not tho.
My temp hits 95 daily for two months a year and I get the same yield as when it hits 75-80 the whole grow. Your plants will die quicker when it gets cold. Good luck.

High temps will cut your harvest in half ,I know from not plugging my ac in until june.I let it get in the low90s and ruined 500$ worth of seeds. They did not die, they just did not produce as much weight as usuall

I am currently gowing the same way in my atiic using a 2' x 4' box and 2 42w(150w) cfls. The temps at night hit about a 88 degree low and in the day hit a 104 degree high! The humidity is about a constant 50%. I Keep the box closed because of a small co2 generating technique but If I open it with fans blowing inside it gets it down to 93 when normally 104.

No one has given a good answer on how to decrease temps! I have a very old house with next to no electrcity so an a/c is impossible! I was thinking about getting dry ice but I bet that would be pretty expensive in the long run...

I need a quick and cheap solution to cooling my box!

to deal with temps you need an ac or a inline fan .i use 1500 ppm co2 in my bloom room with a dehumidifier so my temps hit abou 92 at peak of the day. for my chem dog 1500 co2 doesn't help the chem need the temps around 85.iv'e found 85-88 degrees works best for me .because of the co2 i dont use outside air or an ac in the room itself .what i do is tape the ducting for my cool tube to the output of the ac.i set the ac to 60 and let the cold air cool my light.the light still adds heat but the cool tube is cold to the touch so they cancel each other out keeping my room 83-88 during lights on.that way my co2 stays at 1500 and the temps are ok.co2 works at 92 with my cherry ak skywalker and p phunk but the chem gets half as dense in high temps.i think smell and potency both suffer as well .so high co2 wont help every strain at that temp 420 herbman i think you should pull your co2 and keep your box open ,you will get better nugs 104 is way to high for any strain iv'e grown 100 is to high for any strain iv'e grown with co2good luck

I have to put my plants in a closet and even if I leave door cracked so a/c can help temps. are at 90 or now with the 98 degree temps outside, they are up to 95. Don't like my progress and will never grow in summer again until I can afford a better a/c.

Hey guys

Hows it going everyone?! I also tend to have high temps in my cabinet about 88 (ambient tends to be 5 - 8 degrees cooler) it reaches max. To attempt to keep it cool I use a 4" inline fan (176cfm) in a 15cf cab; because of the noise I bought a fan controller to reduce the rpms. even with all the extra draw the temps do not start to rise till I am using about a 1/4 of the power on the fan. So to cool my cab the least expensive option is to either flick on my central air or get a a/c to cool the room the cab is in to reduce the temps. With out an air conditioner I have not been able to find another way effective way to accomplish cooling. I am a new grower so this is just all my opinion. As far as 95F goes that seems pretty hot are you growing in a cab or tent or something up there or just in the open and that is the attic temp.

Another thing that I have been worried about is that with too high of temps in flowering I have heard that it can produce hermies any insight would be helpful....?

Was growing in an unused closet at the back of my house. Live in the south so I will grow other three seasons.

U dont want to have your day and night temps to different. Its meant to be directly linked to node lengths(length between them) and If temps are to different may produce fluffy lose bud.

Word. My attempt to grow in that kind of heat didn't live up to my expectations. My next grow began in late autumn/early winter and my plants really thrived in the lower temps. The point is that it can be done, but your yield will be greatly affected. Address the heat issue now and you'll be much happier come harvest time.

yes i loss 3 of my bds they lood so great then they just dropped i purchased them there own dedicated ac i had too............if you can grow in that type of heat good luck NYC..........Bronx
