I question the quality of the study as cannabis neither decreases blood flow nor causes hemorrhaging.. Without either of those things happening how could one be stroking out due to cannabis ?

They are trying to claim it limits blood flow to the brain through narrowing of the arteries which is simply false, yes they narrow but both velocity and pressure increases even a month after use according to this https://www.aan.com/pressroom/home/pressrelease/250 which given the source I believe.

My BP actually spikes when on cannabis, and I can see it causing issues over time. Silent killer and all.

Edit: clarification

Def happens to me. I have to take 3 different meds. If I check BP before and after smoking (vaping), my systolic (high number) will go up at least 20 points, around +10 diastolic (the low one). Of course, YMMV.

there should be hippies dying left right and center
THERE ISNT
so much for that thinking eh.. lol
what people think they can see and the way it is first hand are two different deals..
BP can spike..but other factors are what is causing the stroke.!!!
using POT as proof is complete nonsense

maybe trying looking into the MEDS yer taking and figure out a way to NOT TAKE THEM by eating properly or figuring out why you need pharma made crap to begin with..
A very good friend of mine has high blood pressure from being over weight..
takes 25 mgs of oil each night only and HE's GOLDEN ever since
NO MORE PB meds for him.

Man, not trying to cause a ruckus. Only relaying my personal experience. Not blaming the weed for my condition. I have gone off cannabis, alcohol, exercised regularly and switched to the D.A.S.H. diet last time I tried to kick the pharms. Result was I was still left with very high BP, like 170's/110's. My genes are not allowing normal BP under any conditions it seems. Now on metoprolol, amlodipene and HCTZ at medium doses and only get control down in the 150's/100's. I used to take benezepril, but had to go off that after 20+ years due to edemas. That was actually working. I monitor my BP carefully and I know that FOR ME, cannabis spikes my pressures. Of course, YMMV.

No disrespect intended all around I am sure. When I read your post it reminded me of how not too long ago I was taking too many meds. The lead Dr at the MS clinic even wrote that in his official report, blaming that for his inability to make a confirmed diagnosis. I take NOTHING from Big Pharma anymore. Using cannabis has changed all that for me.

My wife still takes a lot of stuff for anxiety and other stuff. I has been a bumpy road for her especially when they change anything, so I understand the issues with trying to get off of the meds. I have a daily regiment of nutrients and my health is noticeably improved. If you can manage to quit pharma and replace it with good food, your high BP may correct itself.

Tough to eat in this 'merica we've created where convenience and price rules the day. I do try hard to stay away from fast food and restaurants in general. I have all but eliminated red meat and I'm very near normal weight. The D.A.S.H. program really opened my eyes to what it really takes to eat a BP healthy diet.

Lol, just realized this is the Canadian forum. Well, you guys got most of the same problems I'm sure.

No worry, you can post anywhere you want to. It sounds like you are in front of the issue, though I do not understand where red meat plays out in this diet. I friggin thrive on red meat. it has all but eliminated my chronic fatigue. I am more leaning to a ketogenic diet with a few exceptions, like I am not giving up coffee.

I hate going to the dr so I always smoke right before I go, always had great bp.
Is this a thing that happens to some?
I see my treating doctor on a weekly basis for nerve blocks down my spinal column and get my bp taken before and after each treatment and my bp is always low

I burn constantly, generally I'm smoking a joint or two every couple hours so I am very skeptical about this report
