I think I will, it makes a lot of sense. I'd go with straight perlite as well, with an air pump going to the bottom w/ a bubblestone.

I'm also starting to branch out into beneficial bacteria and fungus in my soil, something i haven't fucked w/ too much yet.
Looking forward to see how yours turns out. What size pot are you planning on using? Good idea with the airstone...I have two airstones and a pump, so I might try that out if it yields decent results.

hey man! can you tell me how you did that little drip system you got there. Im in the same boat as you with leaving town on the holiday and need to figure out somthing .
Its really easy. You need a water pump rated less than 150 gph, some drippers, hose, digital timer, and a bucket. Put the pump in the bucket, run 3/8" hose out to either a manifold or a 3/8-1/4" hose reducer and then run 1/4 hose to the drippers. Then you set the timer up to run a few minutes every day or every other day depending on your pot size and you have automatic watering.

**UPDATE 11-6-09**

Not really much to report since last update. The two bagseed plants and Easyryder are budding nicely. The bagseed is on day 26 of 12/12 and the ER is 38 days from seed. The easy ryder is 19" tall and has grown past the reflector, so I hope it stops growing soon otherwise I'll have to tie it down or something. The Afghan Kush Ryder is still a runt but is starting to grow vertically and form some flowers.

In my veg cabinet, I had to toss three autoflowering seeds that didn't take off due to being burned in FFOF soil. Not really happy about that considering they were feminized, so they weren't cheap... The clones are still trying to get rooted and start growing in the hempy buckets. They should start any day now since they have been rooted for over a week now. The mother plant is still struggling with P deficiencies hardcore but two flushes and a watering with 1/2 strength GB later, it is looking better. The clones I cut earlier this week had to be thrown out because they were affected by the deficiency and got all limp. I'll cut more when the plant recovers and starts shooting out some healthy growth.

Time for some pics of the flowering goodness...

Thanks for popping in and commenting again.

I want to tie it down because I am desperately running out of room but I'm worried about damaging the stem and buds. It has been really warm here the last couple of days, so the canopy temp with the door closed gets too high to make me want to move the lights any closer.

Very nice grow dude. I cant wait til i put my plants into flowering which is soon.
Thanks! The first few weeks of flowering are pretty exciting since the plant explodes with growth. What do you have going?

i would be happy as hell with that right now
Thanks. I am pretty happy with how they are turning out. It will be a great feeling to be liberated from ever having to buy a bag of weed again. :bigjoint:

I appreciate it. I'm not sure what the box was originally for since I bought it at a thrift store but it could accomodate shelves, so I think it would be used to hold office supplies or something in a business setting. Good luck if you decide to build something and if you need some advice, hit me up...

Well, today my landlord is giving a tour of my apartment, so this is the true test of its stealth. Luckily, I have a very good relationship with my landlord and worse case scenario is they tell me to get rid of the plants. I'm pretty confident this setup is stealthy enough but I'll probably have to power down the lights and fans for a few minutes when they walk through.

Oh, and the plants are doing awesome. The AK47 looks so delicious. Picture updates tomorrow.

The landlord ended up cancelling last minute, so I'm off the hook until next time... Luckily, I know how long it takes to hide all the evidence and power everything down in case of short notice. Everything locks, so even if there is suspicion of the cabinets, they won't be able to get into them.

The bagseed is doing awesome and the buds are starting to plump up and smell real nice. I'm not sure how much longer but I am being really patient in hopes it will pay off well for me. The easyryder is doing awesome and smells so dank. I can tell it is going to be a good smoke. The buds are starting to crystallize and plump up. The afghan kush developed some deficiency, so I flushed her this afternoon in hopes that her lower leaves will stop turning yellow. The buds look nice but I can tell this tiny little plant isn't going to yield much of anything. I'm not sure why but the plant is only 5" tall and isn't showing any signs of going vertical anytime soon. I'll probably get like an eighth off it. lol.

Onto the pictures...

Great stuff man. Love your set up here. Everything is looking great. How far into flowering are you now? I am just starting out and trying out some bag seeds first also. I'm also pretty hesitant to buy seeds, seems riskier than anything else and I guess I'm a control freak but I work so hard to keep this a secret that I don't like the idea of buying off the internet. Too bad that seems to be the only option.

Anyways, can't wait till I get to where you are now and look forward to seeing how yours turns out.

Love to hear your thoughts on my set up. link in signature

Thanks bro. I appreciate the feedback. I posted something in your thread for you. Your setup looks solid.

Anyways, the bag seed was vegged for 5 weeks and then put into 12/12 lighting on 10/10, so that would be about 4 weeks flowering. So maybe another 4-5 weeks to harvest...?

I was a little reluctant at first to purchase seeds too but after hearing all the positive feedback from the Attitude, I decided to take the chance. I went for the guaranteed stealth option and everything went super smoothly. Even if customs does find the seeds, they'll just confiscate them. They have bigger fish to fry that some dude ordering a few seeds to grow for personal use.

looking very nice man... definately tie that big one down lol... scribed :leaf:
Thanks! You really think I should tie it down? It goes about an inch past the reflector but it has stopped growing. The temps aren't bad next to the fans, so as long as it doesn't keep growing it is fine for now.

yeah... in my opinion you should still try to tie it down... that way you can get the light closer to the other plants... otherwise you will have a lot of stretching...:leaf:

BTW I dig your dog lol... mine is still a baby... he will be 4 months on the 26th... his name is Indica hehe :leaf:

FUCK!!! Tried to tie it down this morning and the stem broke, so I'm going to splint it and leave it. These buds are way too dank at this point to be fucking with the plant. I hope it will recover...

The tops of the bagseed buds are only 8" from the bulb, so I think they're fine. If they stretch, I'll just tie them down more.

I love puppies! How cute...and an awesome name too. Got any bigger pictures?

is that just a normal car intake? or did you modify it somehow to be a odor filter?
I modified it for odor control. It is a 4" inlet filter from ebay with a 3" PVC pipe running thorough it. The piping has holes drilled all around it and then is covered with screen. Then I filled the gap between the filter and piping with activated carbon. Basically, it works the same way a store bought carbon scrubber works but at a fraction of the price. It is very effective with controlling odors.
