Hello people, hope i am welcome here and u can help in my marijuana growing first try :blsmoke:

As i have seen there are many professionals here and many good tutorials.

I have my plants growing for over a month now, they are about 60cm taller one and 30-40cm the other 2 plants. I have set my grow area in basement, use one 400w mh light which i installed today and plan to have it on for 24h, also i made a box and its painted in white. I dont use any ventilation now and also no nutrients, but plants are growing very good, using water with much iron only.

Plants did start in great outdoor conditions till they get stronger on my balcony but i moved them in box indoors and plan to keep them there.

I will send you pictures tomorrow so u can check and advice maybe.

Thanks ppl.

On this picture is one plant when it was in first growing days :

Thanks for advice, i keep light around 120cm over plants, but will buy more stuff - hope plants can wait till 15th this month :)

One more thing, this light is 400w but have some ML mark on package, phillips, can it be good for flowering also, and how much time it's needed to wait before flowering start...

No offence my friend but alot of your questions can be answered in the STICKY threads at the top of the forum.

Check out there first and when you cant read any more then ask questions.

You must do research on your own and make your own mistakes in order to learn.

Hello ok so I'm a noob too but I have a 150mh and 2 flurscents on mine I was runnin 24hrs but the room was getting really hot so I decided to back off the lights to an 18/6 cycle to reduce heat they are doing much better now 24hrs may work for you but in my experience it heats up the space too much as long as its working for you I'd stick to it and adjust if heat becomes a problem

First let me say welcome to RIU

120 cm is far....you might want to consider about 60 cm for starters then adjust...
you will definitely need a fan though

what kind of strain are they? and how long since they were seeds?

Good luck with your grow

i agree with this......18/6 does the trick just fine and is cheaper on the light bill

Welcome aboard (never mind J he is on the rag)

The one plant looks good. If 60cm = about 2' then you have some work to do and quick.

Look at vented hoods and inline fans.

The very best this to do is come up with a plan and design then present it here (peer review if you wish). But like J said nobody is going to spoon feed you here.

Oh and why the f are we not on the metric system geez.

I agree about the fan. My grow area has no active ventilation, although it is very open around the bottom and on two sides (and the room it is situated in is well ventilated). I have a desk fan on the floor blowing on the plants, and one attached to the side wall of the grow area blowing directly on the lamp. When I turn the fan that blows on the lamp off the temperature at the top of the plants raises about 6-8F - on the hotter days that's the difference between perfect and bad news. With the fan on I can get the light within 8 inches, without it I would have to have it about 15 inches+ away. A cheap purchase, but so valuable.

Thanks for welcome, so 120cm is far away, thanks for advice then i will lower this and check plants more often to see it's effects. Yes, i will buy one but need to wait my paycheck in 13 days from now :( hehe And i used seeds from very good quality marijuana that i smoked, they were big and strong but not sure if i will get what i need from them. There is no way to get good quality lab seeds in bosnia - maybe someone could connect me and advice on how to get seeds here :) I would pay extra for that.

I think that 24h will make my plants bigger and stronger, so i plan to use such lighting till they have at least 30cm more, then try to make them flower - what u think? Of course, will get ventilation asap.

i agree with this......18/6 does the trick just fine and is cheaper on the light bill
Thanks all, i am really happy to have found your forum and already i did benefit a lot from this site.

Yea, i must use some of my brains and try not to smoke this much - will have better results surely. Thanks for welcome. And thanks for giving me hope with that comment on plant hehe

thanks, will buy one soon. Must take care for my plants hehe

lol

bonzi you make laugh all the time.

Sometimes i can be a little harsh. BUt thats only because we have all had to read and research to get the best we can out of our grows.

J
Sure, i understand, no hard feelings about anything. Just to mention, i did investigate and read for many months about growing but no text will help as u guys can help me with your experience, as experience is only thing in the world that u can buy.

As for mine I will definately consider all advice as well as my own research I have a fan blowing on them and am working on ventilation still its a work in progress I got dropped with this responsiblity by my bf who killed his crop I am making do and my ladies are looking better than ever with the tips from all at RIU and tough love is cool and all but whe you work 3 jobs you try finding the exact details you need before its too late ill deal with some tough love but be aware I can dish it back :)

Rene

i like your style.

the only reason i give tough love sometimes is to make sure ppl do their research.

the main things to consider when designing your area are
LIGHT
TEMPS
HUMIDITY
VENTILATION

without ventilation your plants will not get enough Co2 which is crucial .

a decent exhaust with passive intakes can solve this problem easily.

Bonzi Lighthouse is the KING of COOLING any advice he gives about cooling should be followed.

If you are able to you should always perform testing of your environment before putting plants in there. Complete a full light cycle to test effectively 18/6 is my chosen cycle

Thanks J and I get what your saying you can't acheive sucess if you don't put the time and effort in I know not having vent it a big deal I have a half ass vent system lol but its not working as well as I need but it should make due till the 20th at that time I hope to have a vent set up and hopefully my HPS light back (HTG sent a bad one!) Hope my ladies can wait last night I noticed they are showing their sex! As this is my first grow I'm excited :)

Yea, every advice i s welcome. I did do some research on my own lately. Well, here are results after making bigger box.

My babies are just starting to grow properly.

I give them 'rain simulation' also, with tiny drops of course. Don't know how to say it better in english sorry :)

Close up image shows what i mean by 'rain simulation'
