Hello!!

This is my first post and I wanted to say DAMN!! There is so much information!!! I dont know where to start!!! I have a small grow going with a 250 HPS I started with a 150 and the plants are growing slowly and I switched to a 250 and the leaves went from being just under droopy to standing straight up reaching to the light! Im sure this is what I want but will the change in light stress the plants and should I just start over? The plants are about 35 days old and about 4 inches tall!!! They are green I do have some lower yellowing but I think thats from the nutes I used too soon!

yeah you should just check the distance from the light to the tops and wait until a couple weeks to give nutes, also monitor the temp, more info and pics would be helpful

Ok here are some photos I will take better ones of the system tomorrow with out the lines, and I will stop with the nutes but this is what I am using

FloraMicro 5-0-1
FloraBloom 0-5-4
FloraGro 2-1-6

Mixed in a one gallon jug with RO, the light sits about 10 inches from the tops to the lamp! temps are about 70 to 75 and I have a HEPA/Charcoal filter running so the bases of the pots are cold and the tops are warm! The strain is white widow!! I could use all the information I can get!!

the increased lighting won't kill the plant unless the temp rose super fast and too hot, if you keep it under 85 with a nice fan on them you'll be fine
keep em going bro

so the bases of the pots are cold?why do you want them to be cold.roots prefer abit of warmth.i also think you should raise your light because it could be causing your plants leaves to reach up like that into a y shape.what kind of medium is that your using?how often do you water?and what exactly have you been feeding them and how often?
im only asking because i want to help you grow some good shit.

oh and hello,welcome to riu.

dont let them get cold when the lights are off.dont over or under water.and because of the size of your plants they dont need full strength nutes.oh and make sure you ph the water after adding nutes.as close to 6.5 ph as you can in that medium.oh and get a little oscilating fan on the go in there if you can.

Thats what I need input!! I read that the roots like it cold!! I mean its not super cold but room temp which is about 65-70 and not shure what the medium is, my buddy planted them and he does all right growing!! But I will find out!! I have a meter that tells me how wet the soil is so I try to keep it in the center which is moist( I will post a pic!) I have been watering them about every 4 days, I listed what I was feeding them above and I use the veg amounts on the bottles! as for raising the light I can do that!! we dont want the V?? or reaching for the sky like that??

oh, well as i see it for now they look fine just keep the soil moist and temp controlled as best as possible, don't worry so much. sometimes you can make a problem worse by not knowing what it is.. for now they look okay and will pull through

no roots like warmth.cold roots slow down if not stop growth.thats why when you water the water should be fairly warm.i like to keep my water in the grow room to keep it a good temp for my plants.
anyway 65-70 when lights are off is fine.when lights are on 75 is ideal.but cannabis can cope with higher temps.
watering every 4 days sounds ok,roots like to breath,so if the medium is to wet for too long it stiffles the roots, which obviously causes problems.you should be able to tell when they need to be watered just by lifting the pot,you might see your plant wilting abit too.dont be scared to let your medium dry out.and when it come to the nutes youve been using.i havent used them before but i wouldnt give your plants full strength nutes just yet because of the size of your plants.you should start off giving them a little and work your way upto full strength as they get bigger.some ppl feed every watering and some ppl feed every other watering.especially when theyre giving full strength.
and as for the reaching, well in that latest pic thats more normal.as for the leaves drooping at the sides.that could be the cold or lack of light that caused that, but it should improve as your plants get happier.plus the new growth will be healthy and more vigorous.your new light should help massively.
anyway just keep reading as much as you can.i read as much as i could about growing before i started.it definatly helps alot...peace.

Will do and will keep posted on the board!! I now have the nutes at half strength and should I just use RO or keep using the nutes? Do I need to put the light higher? the pic posted above is of the little bigger plant, theother one is still shooting up like a V!
