*****help 3 150w hps setup*****

OK,

So I'm new to HPS and MH all I've ever used was CFL and I need help figuring out how to set up 3 150W HPS bulbs.
I know I need a ballast and I'm not sure how to set that up either!Or where to get one!
I need help
Thanks

Wats up DR.
Sun system has a fixture that has the light in socket w/ a built in ballast (all in one) and u can decide how to hang 3 of those, what type of space do u plan on using

4 1/2 X 4 X 7 1/2 Closet I have CFL's right now but I want to switch to these HPS.is there any with a multi tap?
Not that i know of, but i do know of some ballast that are able to support 2 bulbs.
But i have always heard its best for each bulb to have its own ballast.
Im in a closet as well but urs is deeper and mines it wider. 3 150w hps would fit fine with the proper ventalation. I have a all-in-1 150w hps and about 312w of cfls. and im gonna put a 400w or 600w in there with the proper ventalation.

Depends on how u operate ur closet.
IMO with a good oscillating either in the closet or in front moving air around yo should be good.
I keep my closet doors open at times. With them closed the temp can reach 87F. Mostly i keep the doors open with the fan blowing on all of my girls and the temps stay constant at 78F.
Ive also saw this on youtube and i am putting it together atm.

I run two hydro farm sunburst 150s I got from amazon. I paid like 68 usd each. If I had it to do over I would wait and buy 1 600 watt from htgsuppy.

Having two makes it easier to manage the canopy, but I would much rather have the watts, penetration, and ballast outside my room.

ebay has 4oowatters for $100. or less and a light rail will be the shit for a 7' long closet going the length of the closet you can use every bit of the closet.

You always need ventilation. The primary consideration here is that HID bulbs result in heat, which usually has to be dealt with (especially in summer).

Like I said in your other thread, and as the others alluded to, you would need multiple ballasts to run all three bulbs. Once again, this would also be less efficient. Three 150 watt HID lamps are actually drawing roughly 500 watts (~170 watts per ballast x 3).
The lower wattage lamps are less efficient in terms of light output as well, they produce less lumen per watt. I really don't think you're going to be able to find a dual 150 for this reason, it wouldn't be practical. From HTG Supply, it looks like the 150 watt HPS system with cheap reflector and bulb included is $70, granted that you already have bulbs.

Again, the lamps put off a significant amount of heat. A single 150 or 250 watt HID lamp will get quite hot; but this is more simply dealt with and heat can be controlled with a couple fans and proper ventilation (exhaustion of hot air somehow). Once you start talking about multiple bulbs (or higher wattage bulbs) you need to consider the additional heat that those bulbs are going to throw off (not the mention the heat produced by the ballasts), and associated equipment for cooling everything, as well as the ease of the whole setup.

You could get a single 250 or 400 watt HID system for under $200 from HTG Supply. http://www.htgsupply.com/Category-Grow-Lights.asp
You can save money by just getting a standard cheap winged-aluminum reflector, but it really does help to have a higher quality one. Some are totally enclosed, and have a tempered glass lens, typically also featuring flanges for air-cooling. The reflector will also affect lighting coverage.

Use the CFLs as side lighting.
