Hey guys I've been growing for about 18 months and recently switched from cfl's to a 400w metal halide grow bulb... I think my vegetative growth is behind for this far into veg but not quite sure because I've been using clones.. Also I've noticed either light burn or nute burn and was hoping to get a little advice... Any input is appreciated

They do look a little behind for 40 days. Not horrible but It could be the strain.

My Bubbas Gift grew slow as hell. Definitely worth it though.

They look healthy though. Doesn't look like nute burn. Possibly light burn but it's not at the tallest parts. Did you water the foliage with the lights on? That's what it looks like to be honest.

What are you feeding? How often and at what strength/dilution? And what is the humidity? How long do they sit at 62?

he has a myriad of problems.

what i think your confusing with cal is a boron def. note some pf the "torn" leaves and its not showing as rust dots like a mist. the whole patterning is different.

thats all ill say..well ill add check manganese and potassium.

this also causes the slowed growth besides appearance

now go fix!

See I thought boron was more of what the top new growth looks like yellowish and twisty leaves

it does that also.

im attempting to avoid actually doing this for him (yall)

boron isnt absorbed well in high ph, neither is manganese. k is related to boron uptake and also likes lower ph. as does zinc....

these all coincidentally seem to be present.. hint hint
rh may play a minut roll as well

my penny

Hey thanks for everyone's input.... OK... My humidity is super low so I decided to mist the walls and maybe some plants with the lights on.... I have never delt with boron before.... I just moved to a new place and the water is definitely different and that is when I started these new plants... I use the cheap ph drops and they were green(water & the drops) so definitely a little high on the PH scale... I have only fed once (grow big) on day 25 1/3 strength.... At my last place the drops would show the same green color after testing ph and never had any problems except a little calcium deficiency... I know when we moved in the landlord told us that our water has alot of chlorine but I always let my water jugs sit out.... I use sensi cal-mag basically with every watering...
Most nights the laundry room has been getting cold... So usually every night for the dark period it is about 62° with keeping a space heater in there... Sorry I tried to answer everyone's post in a single response... What should I do now? Start adding ph down to my water? I thought boron deficiency was rare?
Humidity =20‰
I have grow these 2 strains under cfl/hps before (skunk, bubblelicious) and they just seem so small....

ooooh i called it.
rh and ph!
nother point for qwizo

and yes
So I'm gonna place a humidifier in my tent I used to do it during veg with cfl but a little scared to use it with an open m/h bulb..... Might not help to much with my extraction fan but worth a try.... K... Just need a little help with my water.... Fill gallon jugs and let sit for a few days... Check the PH and if it's high I should us the PH down? I've never used ph up/down with only water... I normally only use when adding nutrients

I poor about an inch of water in the bottom of my tent (4x2). Keeps the humidity between 50-60% usually.

I don't like running humidifiers with HID lighting either. Sounds like a recipe for trouble.

As for PH, distilled white vinegar works well. When I did hydro, I used General Hydroponics PH system. They both sucked. I turned to vinegar.

I don't always lower my ph, but when I do... I use the Heinz haha.

So you just pour water straight onto the tent floor? Wow sounds crazy but might work... Does it ever get moldy? How long till it dries up?

I never get mold. It just evaporates over time. I grow organic now, but I used to empty after flushes. All the nutrients that wash out may cause mold. Just a precaution.
