Haha. No way. I am in upper nor wood. Right by crystal palace. We are 5 mins away from each other. And to be honest as much as you can get.. The more the better. In Sutton they have a hydro shop called brite lite. They are my beat. Just pop over to pound stretcher in Croydon and they have the light clips and I'd you know upinsmoke there is a shop right by it that foes great cfls
Dude if were so close how about a link up and a beer to discuss in person? We got at least a common interest :) I could do with some green mentoring. Beers on me BTW! ;)

You don't want to waste that plant. She is a beauty and the fact it grew on tomorite shows all this nute a and b blah blah is bollocks.

If I were u I would invest in a light and let her flower to her full potential

Lmao no what I meant was light sorry. Buy any type of horticulture light u can. It's better than a window. Cfl/hps anything.
LOL! I get you mate, sorry I thought you mean't the solar sun. I'm def gonna ramp up the lumens as to speak. I can't wait and hope to see some crystals man! Then I'll be pestering you lot about harvesting etc.. It's good to have the resource of internet blogs/articles etc but nothing like actually chatting to someone for guidance. :)

Thanks dude

On my first ever grow (it was hydro) it went all pete tong and I was using canna nutes. That was years ago. This time I tried a outdoor soil grow. Is tomorite shit compared with other so called 'cannabis speciic nutes'? I def don't want to waste her, she's my queen dude :)

It's the lighting stuff that gets me, how many watts, how close to the plant, duration so on.. Learning as i go along. Any input is appreciated.

Cheers :)

Man I really don't mean to be rude, but when it comes to growing I like to keep myself to myself. maybe its just me being paranoid, I am more than happy to give a hand on rollitup but for anyone to know my face and be able to link it to a grow, is something I can't risk, the more people who know me and know I am growing the higher risk to me. All the places I go and the things I find you will find out first hand. I really don't mean to be rude. Just got a lot to lose

Hey dude, I understand. I felt a bit weird even suggesting to someone I just talked to on rollit to link up, but you seem though chat like a decent straight up bloke so I took a pun. But no worries geezer, I appreciate your upfrontness and advice. Hey mate I'm old school, went stanley tech in south norwood (made it into harris academy!). Saw palace place at homesdale rd!!! But I know what you mean, it's a....world where not everything is as it looks. I can appreciate that.

Thanks for your advice though mate, I'm popping into croydon saturday so I'll check out the poundland. I'm just worried I'm gonna fuck up my amazon with the lighting/flowering phase!!! I done the veg part pretty good just hoping I can get stage 2 done properly.

The lighting is over complicated mate. KISS keep it simple stupid is the motto I use. One plant won't need 1000w of light. Cfls are tricky because you have to keep adjusting the distance and amount of bulbs you have. Big cfls are easy. As big as you can get (300w). Maybe two of them and kept them 1ft away. Or go led and that's even easier. HPS is easy too but you get heat issues as you do with MH.

A lot is made of what nutes you use and what's best for the plants but I have always thought that it's bollocks. Tomorite isn't in the favoured group but I thought it would do a good job so I'm pleased to see your lovely plant.

Don't divulge too much info on here as to location and activities outside of hydroponics/horticulture because plod is watching.

Cheers dude good advice. I'll pop into b&q/homebase and see if I can get a couple of larger cfl's. If I can't afors it may have to settle for many small ones tomorrow. I thought if I continue with tomorite (as it's done me ok so far) and add some bloom stuff to that may be ok. What do you reckon mate? Also what NPK rating would you suggest for the blooming food?
The Tomorite i am using is 4-3-8 if I used that with a bloom would that mess up the NPK levels?

After reading furious348 & your comments I can see your points. Privacy of identity is wise on the public net.

I should be using a TOR really. Snowden and Assange would agree...lol!

Thanks amigo :)

Thanks for understanding mate and its not pound land its pound stretcher across the road from Argos and KFC, you won't find any CFLs that big in b&q or home base (I checked) the only place to get them is amazon. And then they are screw in so you will have to buy an adaptor as well. And watt for watt, Lumen for lumen it would be better to get a load of smaller bulbs because if you had a 200w cfl that had 5000lumen for the same price on the electric you can run ten 20w bulbs. And if each bulbhas 1400 lumen you would end up with a total of 14,000 nearly tripe the amount for the same price . and not only that it can be spread around the whole plant. Its just a bar stars because you find it hard to get to the bud sites. I tie by branches outwards away from the pot and plonk a cfl in the middle of the branch and main cola. There is a few left with not much light but its a small loss. Just keep the bulbs very close 2-3 inches. And as for the beers I might of even had problems , some places don't let under 21's, I'm only 20. Lol. Still a youngster myself. my dad taught me everything I know. But still if you ever need help I'm here. Ohh and if you are in Croydon and go in up in smoke, one of the guys in there has curley hair, ask him if he knows the TALL COLLECTOR, then he should be able to give you face to face advice about quite a lot. (Just keep it hush hush) ;-)

Hey mate, I don't know where up in smoke is but I'll look for it and see if I can find the curly haired geezer and drop the 'Tall Collector' in the conversation LOLS. I'll tell you how it went. I'll DEF keep it low key dude ;)

Yeah sorry about not paying attention to details (must of licked a zoot or 2 or 3 :) ) it was pound stretcher you said not poundland, I google map'd it (street view), not far from surrey st mkt, I'll get a zinger burger while I'm nr KFC..yummy! So I gotta be looking out for 20W cfls yeah and bag about 10 of then?

I like the fact if you get smaller rather than many I could theoretically spread them around the biggest bud sites rather than 1 or 2 big bulbs over the whole girl.

I get you about keeping them very close. I noticed today and last night that the CFL im currently using bloody tinged some leaves, I think they were slighty touching. Do you know if there different spectrums they do e.g. daylight/cool/warm etc or only 1 type? Just don't want to pick up the wrong type.

Bloody spent 1 1/2 hrs and petrol trying to find some blooming stuff from 3 places around me then had to travel nr dulwich and still got told by a garden centre geezer that everyone uses generic feed. I started talking NPK and saying I need a lower N and higher P K. Guy was a bit lost...and he's the garden centre owner..lols. The most joke part is when he goes 'by the way what kind of plant do you want it for' I felt like pissing myself laughing :)

Don't worry I said it's for me maa's tomatoes!! ;)

You old man sounds like a geezer, bit like mine. Ahh bless 20, well as long as your 18 plus you can visit most watering holes. Talking about drinking I'm looking forward to downing a few jars with my mate in brixton tomorrow evening.

Roll on weekend! Get the pun 'roll on'!

:)

Yeah you will be better of with 10 20w bulbs, and upon smoke is just a bit further down the road
Past surrey street market and Argos its opposite a tram stop. And basic rule of thumb is look out for 6500k for veg and 2700k for flowering. But with autos I never bother with changing the bulbs like that. Because they don't have a veg stage they don't need just blue light. So I normally have 20 bulbs 15 red (warm white) 2700k with 5 (day light) 6500k cfls . and I say it pretty much daily. My best auto is sweet tooth auto. Yields UPTO 200g over plant. I used to get around 2 oz with cfls, I have now got a 400w GPS tent kit off amazon with 3 sweet tooth auto. And as for your frets just get onto amazon and get some bio bizz bio grow and biobizz bio bloom. Preferably with bio bizz all mix. Use only water for 21 days. Then 2 feeds of grow then the rest with bloom

The hardest part I reckon is PATIENCE during 2nd phase! B sites are growing but want it to grow faster faster faster!

I have been checking out forums on whether trimming of leaves help the B sites or hinders the the whole F phase. 90%+ I'd say say no to trimming (or say just a little as poss) and remaining lot say it's very effective at increasing yield.

Confusing, atm staying with the 90% lot but if anyone has done a medium-serious trim and got results I'd like to hear about your experiences.

Furious, how's it going mate? :)
