Ok i no this has nothing to do with growing cannabis but i didn't no where else to ask and i though someone on here might no. Basically i have this massive cactus that i have had over 10 years, but something has happened to it. It's turned to mush! you touch it and bits just kinda come off in your hands. Anyone have any idea what's wrong? and if i can save it or is it too late? Cheers in advance, and sorry for the inappoprite thread.

Probably you have overwatered it. Cactus don't need much water, some gals once a week (in summer) or once a month (in winter) are fair enough to let it live. More than this causes damages. Does the pot have a good water draining system?

yup, sounds like its overwatered. cactuses go through seasons. they can go ALL winter without having ANY water. the idea of a cactus is it stores its water inside of itself. you may see the cactus dry up and shrivel during the winter season but this is natural. try not to water it for a while and especially dont touch it. let it dry out and maybe it will harden back up. cactus are really good at repairing themselves. just remeber to keep it dry all winter and then BAM when spring hit give it a nice atering and leave it again until the soil dries back up!

my friend has about 150 of them in a greenhouse and he teaches me all about them!

Guess i did the right thing not watering it then? Also ive put it in the caravan cos its warming in there thought that might help?

Been looking on the net and aparantly the bits fell off well the bits in the pic that where save able if i leave them a few days and let em dry out then plant them i have a whole new cactus don't see it working myself but hey i'll give it a go.

Hmmm123 is very sad it was my baby!
