Help! Calc Defeciency?

Hi Everyone,

This is my 1st grow so really pretty clueless when it comes to disgnosing problems, read a lot of threads but none of them seem the same as my issue but thats going to be my lack of experience.

I have rusting that seems to eminate from the centre of the leaf and move outwards, the leaves themselves seem a litte cripsy. I am growing in Coca, water at 5.9 every three days and have 3 plants, 2 white widow and one auto sugar mango ryder, the problem is only ocurring on one of the WW (my fav plant too, sods law). PPM I dont know, I dont have the means to measure that. Issue is only with the top most leaves (so far) and seems to be working down...

Anyways, thanks in advance for any suggestions and look forward to being an active member of these boards, really looking forward to posting a diary of my next grow (once all the noob issues have been dealt with this grow!).

That does look like a calcium deficiency to me, but you might want to wait for a couple others tto chime in. When I grew White Widow, I found it to like lots of calcium and magnesium.

i use to have this issue when i was using tap water, i think it was caused by a calcium abundance, that locked out other nutes like potassium, magnesium, iron ect, maybe the WW uses less Ca than the other strain and thats why its showing toxcicity...i say flush it, then feed it a decen dose of nutes

Looks like to much food to me. Purchase an EC meter post haste, not tds or ppm as there a few different conversions depending on which meter you buy. This can lead to confusion and over-under feeding. When growing hydroponics you MUST know how much your feeding or you will end up with mucho problems. Then go to mandalaseeds.com and read read read. They have grow tutorials that are second to none. I am not spamming their genetics just recommending the info on the site. They are pro's and you can trust what they say.

Hey All,

Thanks for all the replys.

Workinit, I had discounted over/under feeding as all 3 plants are under the exact same regime and as you can see from the 2 pics below they are absolutely fine. Is it possible this plant is more sesitive than the others? Advice taken though, I will order myself an EC meter tonight.

Bublonichronic, thanks for the advice, it cant hurt so I plan a good fush tonight and see if that helps.

Somebody1701, it seemed to start last weekend finaly developing into the pictures above which I took last night.

Cheers all, will keep you posted.

Well EC meter on order, flushed with 10 litres of PH balanced water so will see how things pan out this week. Fingers crossed health will get back on track.
