Hey guys i am new to the forums welcome ME!

My questions

Pump cylces ?

hmm thats really about it.
im doing a micro grow with the ebb and flow system that i constructed out of 2 rubbermaid boxes + the usual stuff
im going to be using cfl tube style lights to conserve energy. What pump cycle do i need so far i know that when im in 18/6 i should stop the pump during the darkness to encourage root penetration However how often do i need to flood during the plants day time? should i flood when in 12/12 midway through the dark cylce?

depends on your medium...there are 1000000 billion threads like this. I use hydroton in my ebb and flow system, I run the pump for 15 mins every 4 hours, and never in the dark. I lot of people have different opinions on flood times...do some searching.

i've tried to find the same answer with no REAL answer. Like WeedCreed said there are alot of diff schedules people use. some have told me flood for 15min every 3 hours and some say flood for 1 hour 3 times a day. but they all say dont flood in the dark hours. So looks like this is the experamental part, atleast for me it is. i've gotten pretty solid answers on everything else but this subject. good luck though THC420

watering frequency depends on how often your plants need it, which corrilates with how much light you have going and how much heat is present. im using two 400w hps in my flower room and im watering about every 4 hours for 15 min even at night, but when i was only using one 400w i would only water once every 6 hours for 15 min with no night time flooding.

I keep the RW cube 1/2" above the flood level, so only the hydroton and roots get wet...

I flood 15 min every hour... 12x day lights on... 0 lights off... ;-)

Follow gypsybush's excellent illustration. This method works great. By keeping the cubes dry, and only flooding the pebbles, you can water as many times a day during the light cycle as you like. The more the better. Your roots will love it.
