I have a Hawaiian snow started flowering it five weeks ago... it is on an alternating water/feed schedule.
It is a 12 week flowering strain, and is in MG soil ( I have grown in MG before but with a different strain "big bang" ) and all went well...
The issue im having here is that the leaves are turning yellow... the stems are reddish (which doesnt concern me to much) but its the yellowing of the leaves...
It is in a 5 GAL pot temps are usually around 80-84 and Humidity is usually 30-40% (lower humidity for flowering)
Height is 46" and SLOWLY growing but seems like its stopping and now focusing on flowers more...

Now i have read up that yellowing of the leaves is normal in flowering since the plant uses alot more energy (taking energy from the leaves) when it starts focusing on flower production...
But my concern is it is a 12 week strain... and im 5 weeks in which leaves it with 7 weeks left... Does it not seem to soon for the leaves to start yellowing...
I am sticking to my feeding schedule and not adding more nutes due to the fact adding more nitrogen to a flowering plant can inhibit it and bad starts happening...
The food im using is a 10-15-10 this should suffice shouldnt it?
Also if im alternate feeding it, it should still be fine even if the leaves start yellowing no? since it is still getting the NPK from the nutes... but thats why
I would like everyone's input!

The plant is growing, the buds are growing, but im scared that the yellowing of the leaves may effect the yield or possibly worse?...

Here are some pictures of the plant to give a better idea of what im seeing here...

any suggestions or tips/thoughts and what not will be very helpful!!!

The lower leaves are yellowing and withering, mid leaves are not so much yellow but kind of getting there, and the smaller flower sites are still dark green...

Using 600w in cooltube with 6" vortex fan

BY THE WAY the leaves are all droopy because its night time for it now lol... the are normally perky

What do you mean when you say you "are sticking to the feeding schedule and not adding anything"... If the right answer to your question is - add more Nitrogen.. guess you are fucked eh?

A properly cared for plant is green right until harvest.. this "yellow leaves is normal" stuff is said by people not getting a lb a light.

On a side note, the red stems are classic P difficency. This could be caused by a few different factors. Are you running cal-mag during flowering.. if you are - stop... that might help.

Sound like a lockout ,what is your ph? In my experience with sativa they shed a lot of leaves in flowering since they have a higher leaf to bud ratio.
I'm done growing strains that take more than 10 weeks to finish i'm on week 9 and my stalk is purple and the stems are pinkish purple,i just foliage sprayed because i know my ph is outta whack and i need a new meter

Im no expert here but ill say what my gut tells me... im myself at my first run but at the end of it, and the only thing i really can relate to...

it seems your plants are either over or underwatered, they are not suppose to droop like that even during nighttime... if you know they are dry and starts to droop a little, give them a small dose of water over the night, or just water them there. Its like knowing the plant that they will be dry during the night, you know? and if they dry out and droop i think that stresses the plant ergo a negative factor.

yellowing are very normal, and i can almost guarantee its the reason you said, it sucks up energy for the buds and maturing... yellowing leaves could be countless of different stuff, like lack of light, soil problems, overnuting, diseases, heat, genetics yea you name it...

and the flowering time seems to be f*cked up, ive read my strain reviews that says 45days and 12 weeks so never listen to that shit. Your plants are ready when they are ready.

and ive read countless threads and seen instructional videos where they say that rather undernute than overnute, and you will see overnuting very clearly by
the tips, the end of the leaves are getting dried up, brown, like dying...

i have under a week to harvest but they have lost almost all their original leaves and all thats left are small new ones from under the buds... im trying to keep as many
as possible but if they suck the nutes up and the leaves die, what to do? :P there will grow new ones...

im not sure about your nutes tho, feeding them high doses of nitrogen in flowering are not good and will lead to overnuting, they need more of other things in flowering hence the different nutes like vegnutes and floweringnutes.
the over/under watering is really only you who can know, what soil you use, how good it can keep moist etc etc... but if you water every 3-4th day or less it is probably underwatering... a 600w will dry the soil very fast, ofc depending on how far from the plant the light is... i have a 400w hps, about 3 gallon soil in each and they dry out in about 2-3 days.

what i have noticed about floweing stage is they grow about 2-3 weeks after you put the 12/12 on then they stop the hightening and focus more on the buds so thats normal.

Hope any of this helps, and again im not an expert and may be wrong :P

ya after this sativa no more strains that take this long... i only grew this one because it was part of the seed pack... i started with this one first just to get it over and done with

the soil usually dries out after the 3rd day.. your pics look great btw!
Try to water before it dries out - like right before the lights go off for the 2nd night(leading into 3rd day) like said above - I feel like the plants are happier when they arent allowed to dry out, happy plants make happy growers.
Also - high nitrogen through bud will give a wierd taste - I have read that it transfers up through the bud and stays there like sulfer...
I have seen somebody use a fert that was close to the same as yours is and I can tell you that they had more leaf than bud, and what was bud stayed fluffy because the plant was just pushing out more leaf - too much nitrogen is a no go
(my comment is based on personal experience with outdoor growing - your experiences may differ)

Thank you for the compliment T!! However, on this one, I want to add the disclaimer. I'm making an educated guess but a guess nonetheless. Smithcode, the more info you provide (using the questions as a guide) the more we can narrow down the problem. I'm curious as to which nutes you're using, and at what strenght. Are you monitoring effluent ppm as well? cn

using MG 10-15-10

i used the same soil and food for the big bang strain and it never got like this but since this is a sativa and notnindica anything can be different

Because it is a different plant, a different strain, and there are many more differences besides just not being indica. You could have 8 indica plants that all grow differently and all have different feeding needs. One could handle more food than the others, one could handle less. You have to make your observations and change your style to fix the problems that you notice ;)

I have one of each side by side, and you are right, the Sativa got hungry way before the Indica did.

In that case, I give my first post a higher confidence. MG from the box has no or very little Mg or S and no Ca.
I would get some cal-mag and water it in as per instructions. I'd also think about watering in some gypsum for the sulfur, but the cal-mag gets the "stat!" call from the medics. Sooner application ... less irreparable damage. Jmo. cn
