Help= Green algae on top of hydroton - waterfarm

I've got 6 buckets going on my newly acquired waterfarm and have an issue. I have multiple little plants growing around the drip rings and nothing growing in the center. I keep the drip running 24 hrs, and they are under 24 hr 400W HPS. Temp is 78 and humidity is low. The last few days I've noticed there's some green algae growing on top of a few of the hydroton rocks in the center. There's no algae in the bottom, and everything is aerated very well.

What can I do to combat this? I know not everybody runs their drip 24 hours, and maybe this is why. Thanks for your help.

yea the rock is staying wet causing that algae.. allow the rock to dry through the day or its probably going to get worse.. you can add some hydrogen peroxide to some solutions.. that will sterilze the rock and kill the algae growth and maybe drip 4-6 x's a day for 30 mins or so???
