These are 2 different strains. They are about 1 month old. The one is very bushy and the other is not (guessing it's because of different seeds). Should I trim some of the bigger fan leaves on the bushy one? Actually any advice is needed this is my 2nd attempt and it seems to be going great. The closet is 4 ft wide by 8 ft tall so I got plenty of space.

Advice or suggestions please.

It's just a closet that measures a little more than 4ft wide by 8ft high. The temperature stays perfectly between 70-82 degrees with an AC. I am using a homemade CO2 with 1--2litre bottle with sugar, yeast, water. That's it, fairly basic but the seeds are TOP NOTCH. I had 7 total when I started but gave 5 to a friend to grow outside (I'll get something back from that too). These 2 seemed to be the best looking and with 7-9 CFLS it's probably better.

What Size Pots U Using? And What Tipe Of Soil? U Using Any Fertz?

I started them using 2 litre bottles then transplanted into these 5 gallon ones. I used miracle grow soil and actually when I transplanted I used about 1/3 of basic soil I borrowed. Every 7-10 days I used miracle grow plant food. I made the homemade CO2 with yeast, sugar and water in a 2litre bottle. That's it! The CFL's are mostly the 100 Watters (actually 42 I think) then I used the smaller ones which are supposed to be 75 watt (actually 24 I think). I use a moisture meter to keep an eye on the soil and only watered with Distilled water.

On the bigger one should I cut some of the bigger fan leaves? If so where exactly to I cut them? Also someone (too sarcastic) was telling me too top the little one. I looked on the FAQ but would rather someone tell me using my pictures on where to actually top it. Should I is a better question.

don't go cutting off fan leaves just yet. when the plants get bigger you may want to trim the bottom (before you flower or if they start dying from lack of light). topping the growing tip will give you more smaller colas as opposed to one giant nug. it just stops the main branch from growing and forces the top branches to take over where there used to be the one thingy. yah dig? you should try FIM. see if you can fuckin miss correctly.

How much longer should I keep going with the veg? It's been only 1 month and they do look pretty. How should I decide when to 12/12 the girls? I say girls because I checked out the PreFlowering FAQ and it sure does look like a lady too me.

i would top ur plants, try the fim technique or somethin, its under the growfaq, but ya once u do that ull get 2-7 main stems goin up, and since it looks like u got the room, go for it, if you do top id let it veg for an extra 2 weeks so it can establish those new branches befor u go into flowering, but if you dont wanna do that they look fine to start flowering now, and as for trimming fan leaves, i prolly wouldnt, it just stresses the plant and then they have even less surface area to collect light from too, its not really worth it unless you just want to focus on that main cola

i personally take close to 50% of the leaves. two or three time during its veg cycle, feed with a high nitro fert right after. it induces nodes/bud sites to branch out. i dont touch during flowering less the leaf has died for whatever reasons. peace

dont cut the fan leaves, the plant will 'fix itself' to get the light it needs by bending, stretching, twisting etc.. its called a "phototropism"

Only cut fan leaves 10-20days prior to harvest. or if the leaf looks pretty bad then snip it.

you can start flowering when you see alternating nodes either on the main stem or on the branches growing between the nodes but personally I like to wait until the branches are at least as long as the fan leaves, that way i know no fan leaves are blocking them.

only top the plant if you want them to bush out instead of grow up. Green_Nobody has a grow going on right now where hes topping the hell outta couple plants, swing by the grow journal and youll see whats going on.

wwwwwwweeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.....it seems like your plants are getting about the same amount of light, if i were you...i would go get some Dr. Nodes nutez and feed to the smaller one to promote nodal growth...especially diring flowering.

as for flowering, i would follow the rule of about when vegging reaches one foot. bc flowering potentially shoots the plant up anywhere between twice to three times it's size when begining flowering.

like steelers said...don't go cutting away at leaves yet. go read the section on FIMing first and check to see if it'll benefit you at this point...

remember, patience it KEY

cutting the leaves during veg will force the plant to "replace" the growth, with new bud sites and node formations. phototropism has to do with the plant generating hormons in order to "move" and follow the light. also good.

those leaves you are cutting are "solar panels" and the last 10-20 days are peak resin production periods. the plant cant store light enerygy for that long so you would be reducing the amount of photosynthesis happening thus the amount of energy towards final bud production. persons like KP for example will even suggest trying to keep the leaves a pretty color right up till harvest. i personally like having fall in my basement

I would wait a while before trimming any leaves. Also if your going to top them i would suggest more lighting as there are more branches and leaves etc. Peace

hahahha hope so :)
i'm leting them get big as they could and then make the 12/12
it all on u
if u want more budz let 'em ride 4 another month put the fan for 1 hour a day
and increase the time after few dayz to blow on them to make the stalk stronger to hold the buds but not too close to them or it'll burn them :)
Peaceeeee
