help identify?

anyong know what this is? been told it's some type of ivy, hoping to have it climb some string in my living room as decoration.. it popped up in my garden outside, sprouted a few seperate stalks from a single root, so i chopped this peice of it out and planted in container. climbs very nicely outside, hoping it does the same inside, but i would like to know what it is..

I don't know why not. If you can keep it small through pruning. I would try it anyway. I'm just bull headed
