HELP!. Indoor Bagseed Grow 5 Plants

Started my first grow totally low budget and experimental. Just want to get the very basics down.
I'm using a box with reflective material inside with the light sitting on top it has a 8 inch fan cut into the side of the box for intake and it basically extracts air too because all the air comes out a hole in the top. Its pretty damn ghetto maybe ill post a pic of it later haha.
Using a 250w Hps for Vegging and Flowering
Plants are on day 7 of vegging. Their Pretty Small I Think
Still need to get nutes.
I'm using miracle grow organic soil but I'm looking around for a better soil at local and big chains like Home Depot, Lowes. I checked they didnt carry FFOF or Happy Frog
I should be getting a little bit of funds going to buy a better soil and buy some perlite and vermiculite maybe.

Here's Some Pictures

Sorry if the order is confusing I did top and side shots of each plant

Picture Number 3
The Plant looks deformed haha:eyesmoke: but its still growing fine.

I have a problem the second to last photo shows a plants leaf that has brown/yellow spots on it. I was wondering if it has to do with PH or was it because I misted the plant and it got burned?
I've been using the hand method to judge the distance that is good. My 250w hps has a glass cover so it doesnt give off that much heat compared to if the glass cover was off.

Also plant in picture 6 suddenly stopped growing it was bigger than the plant in picture 2 when they first started growing. I'm thinking its because I compacted the soil too tight and it doesnt have room to move its roots or just very slowly so I am going to transplant it when I get the new soil mix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I like seeing input from all of you on RIU.

i noticed your using transparent pots, roots grow best in a dark environment you should cover/paint the outside of your pots.

i had a set of plants that stopped growing once. my soil was too dense/hard and wasnt allowing a lot of air to the roots. Pot loves air. i was using Miracle Grow way back then.. take your soil and mix it with perlite. 35-40% perlite. make sure there isnt a lot of bark in the soil since it gives the roots less room to grow.

*Update*

Have a problem with one of the plants the leafs are curling upwards and folding sorta like a taco. is this Heat Stress, Underwatering, or PH problems? when I checked the soil it was pretty dry so i watered it

Also today meaning later today as its 2:14am (my 6 month old son is a night owl so im up late) I will probably be picking up some organic soil or perlite to mix with the soil i have already, a Ph tester and corrector if I can afford it also nutes if I have the funds.

those spots almost look like a nute deficiency but dont feed them much if anything at all at that age. if the spots dont spread and they are only on that leaf then forget about them. Trying to fix every little thing with your grow will drive you nuts!

that soil looks really wet. give it some time to dry out and reevaluate the situation . the leaves will stretch toward the light when the plants are happy but it looks like youre being a bit of a mother duck here. they have a nice green color. just give them some room and they will do their thing.

Haha had me laughing at the mother duck thing. Yeah the soil was wet because i watered it as soon as I saw the leaves curling up the soil was really dry before hand when I first saw them like that. In the picture I just watered it. Thanks for the fast response sir

Update on the taco leaf looking situation.I watered it before I went to bed and when I woke up around 2pm. It was back to normal so im guessing it was because I let it get real dry.
Transplanted plants into a perlite and soil mixture I like it alot feels airy and nice.
Got some nutes today only thing I could find was the miracle grow plant food with a NPK of 28%-8%-16% I was looking for a 30-15-15 but couldnt find it :(
If I use the nutes which I prolly will when they get to there next watering im only going to use 1/4 of what the box says. and work on up

Your leaf curling problem was IMO most definatly heat stress. I noticed you said you backed off the light a little bit and watered then the problem was gone. When a plant is underwatered, the whole thing will droop down rather than curl up and the plant will feel very weak. But a dose of water and itll be fine in an hour. Trust me ive seen plants recover from some crazy shit
