Hey everybody. Been on this site for a while but don't really post. Newbie grower. Had maybe 10 harvest. Some soil with Miracle Grow lol but a few more in the hydro depot. Made MANY newbie mistakes but started getting the hang of things. I have a fairly good understanding of what it takes to grow all kinds of plants including MJ. But I've always used bagseed. Now I'm wanting to experiment in organics I already have my mix cooking but this go around i want to buy some seeds so I know exactly what I got. I don't want auto flowers because I'm growing ina 3x3x4 box i built. Using a 300w LED light. And i want to set up a Scrog. I'm looking for a bushy strain that I can train to have a perfectly even canopy in my box ina short time. I'm pretty confident in gettin the beans started with so I don't mind spending a decent amount but don't want to go overboard being I'm experimenting with my soil mix. If you made it this far thanks for reading and would love any input or past experiences you guys have had! Thanks!

you can make any strain grow to any style in veg. if you want a bushy plant top and trim several times to desired height until bush size is reached for example.
Your choice of genetics is purely your choice based on the effects you desire. check out leafly.com for some smoke reports.

@Yzfirecat I'd like to see some pics if you don't mind. I guess I was lookin for strains that particularly enjoy being under led lights and organic soil. And decent priced. Maybe I'm being redundant and too complicated but didn't know if any would be "easier" to grow with my setup. Checking out leafly now. Thanks!

I've heard blue cheese likes led. From what I'm seeing I agree so far. I bent her over for lst. Every strain is gonna like organic soil as long as there's enough food in their for them. That's what I'm doing plus some organic nuits. But mine are going outside soon.20170514_204324_1494874513339.jpg 20170516_100537_1494959485775.jpg 20170514_174536_1494982702043.jpg

I am growing 10 different strains right now but 4 are autos so we wont talk about them. All 6 of the plants i am growing are short and bushy without doing any sore of topping or lst. i'll post a picture and you can feel free to ask about any of the plants you see. Strains are Candy, Ice, Black Jack, Super Skunk, Ak-48 and Master Kush. 20170516_211201.jpg 20170516_211312.jpg

What kind of LED are you using?

Hi i'm doing - allow me to Copy & Paste :bigjoint:;
White Widow XXL Auto cannabis seeds by Dinafem Seeds are an autoflowering Indica-dominant cannabis strain that results from the cross between a White Widow Autoflowering and our elite clone White Widow. It is a high-quality 3rd Generation autoflowering hybrid with which to obtain fast abundant crops and that has several therapeutic properties.

White Widow XXL Auto is the innovative evolution of our cannabis seed White Widow Auto. This marijuana strain develops fast-flowering easy-to-grow vigorous short plants that yield large compact buds covered with plenty of resin glands. It has few leaves, which makes manicuring an easy task.

Yes i'm lazy or maybe I believe in optimising time :p

"I don't want auto flowers because I'm growing ina 3x3x4 box i built"
I would suggest White Widow - Normal Strain it's a bit Bushy well was for me and well the XXL was Bushy 2/3 Plants. Both WW (Normal) and WW XXL can be Scrog fairly easy if you tie down longer stems first and then apply Scrog net ontop after.
There are multiple videos also on youtube with people using and explaining how to Scrog but since you want to train them look up Topping, Trimming and FIM for more branches and BUDS, make sure you spread it all out even. I usually start to train them after their 3rd node - 3rd set of branches/leaves. When they are about 12 Inches based upon how they grow I usually tie down/bend (over) longest stems and after 24hrs I apply scrog. In a video a guy used an oven grill panel directly on top evenly/flat the top half of the plants it caused weight to push them down and prepare them for scrog - nice idea and faster than tying the stems down :)

But the 3x3 and only a 300w ... I donno, I guess 1'.5 x 1'.5 would be ok it's just that i'm sure you will not have enough light coverage to provide all plants with an equal level of light. I use LED so when I last grew 3 plants with a 300W I placed them in a triangle formation and rotated them daily during Veg. I had to rotate them because I saw that if I lined all 3 up the coverage was forcing the plants outside of the middle to grow at an angle towards the light, this also means they are not all getting equal light. I personally suggest get at least another light if you want to go 3x3

So basically if you have poor coverage = poor yield. Just as they started to flower I added a 600w for total coverage based upon the area i wanted to grow in, tbh it helped but I would have had much better results if I had them ALL equally covered from go...:wall:

Now they are Flowering and all seems fine:joint:. I put them in a grow tent just for their size 100% Highly Reflective, so now they have full cover but the tent is cramped and i'll have to make a couple of modifications like shove the air filter fan outside and most probably i'll get 2-4 small clip fans so I remove the 20" one which is doing a balancing act on the Dehumidifier while being chained to the top of the cage just incase the vibrations make it fall off:idea:, I would hate to wake up finding my plants crushed by a fan would rly tick me off :cuss:

The Meizhi are a good amount better for veg but run them both during flower so I can't speak to that.
So basically you use a mix of both lights and not just Meizhi or Vipar, ye tbh I wanted to get the PAR600W new range Vipar as a fairly decent dimmer to allow me to increase the red during flower but in Europe we don't have it yet :wall:
Was also interested in the Mar Hydro Pro II 700W which I think they will stop making but the price (as usual for their lights) was to High with No Buzz:bigjoint::confused: - as in you can find better quality for less. I wanted to try a Galaxy Hydro but they dont even sell them in the E.U:wall:
The EU has a crap selection or shall we say mainly the OLDER versions of ANYTHING in the U.S. We have most Advanced Platinum but No Black Dog for example, I would like to see more EU venders as in U.S Retailers in the E.U since most of the best LED Brands i've seen are from the U.S even if most components are from China :eyesmoke:

Basically in the E.U we are at least 1 LED generation/model behind the U.S, look at the E.U Amazon or grow shops online, yet to think in NL we have loads of growers also many in Spain now that Weed Associations have been made legal to Residents Only...:weed:

Ok well maybe I SHOULD look into autos. I guess reasons for thinking i shouldn't use autos are because for some reason I didn't think they liked being trained to keep them short enough for my size cab and being able to induce bloom at my desired time. I was lookin into either gettin another 300w led or take my 300 out and putting a 600 in. I was thinking 2 or 3 plants. Would I have better results keeping them spread out and get that bushy round ball shape by just pinching tops. Or would I get better yield lsting or scrog and go for an even canopy.

there is no strain that is particularly suited to led lights or organic soil, it isnt that easy man.
you can train autos like a scrog or similar and some people get amazing yields with training.

Or you can add the 600w with the 300w and have 900w, in theory it will increase your yield due to more watts, yes you can train BUT don't over do it, I top after a few nods and not as much as I would a normal stain, I remove all unwanted leaves from lower area to keep a decent airflow, then scrog. 8-)

That's why I was asking about people's experience with these different situations. I can research and research but every grow is different with different results that why I wanted real life experiences to help me decide on which direction I want to go. None of it's easy I understand this. But I can incorporate years and years of knowledge by asking other people what they've had work or not work rather than have all the trial and error on my own grows. Just want to be as good as I possibly can and again I'm still a newbie so my questions will sometimes be dumb or adolescent but I will continue to do what I have to keep making progress. Thanks all again for the responses!

Ya I've done some training( lollipop, lst, topping/pinching) but never a scrog. I did find out the hard way what happens when do too much at once and nearly killed a few plants stunted them with bad harvest. But again I wasn't sure about doin any training with autos. I guess it's just weird to me that they just start budding on their own and I makes me alitte nervous as to when to start training and how long my window is before I need to quit stressing the plants.
