Help me pick a light

I'm looking to upgrade to a 1000w DE

Can I interchange the brand brand of each piece to make up the fixture? bulb, air cooled reflector, and ballast

Brands I've been checking out for ballast
Solis tek
Galaxy
Gavita
Off brand (but still 100000khz and only 234 for whole fixture)

Bulb
Ushido
Gavita

Reflector
Any basic hood and glass 6-8" air cooled reflector

Definitely need something air cooled I'm in a 4x4 tent maybe I'll upgrade to a 5x5

Hey buddy I'm in a 4x4 with a 600w hps that is not air cooled.
I have problems with temps and I run an 8 inch exhaust, 6 inch intake and multiple circulation fans.

I've been considering a 630 CMH for their low heat and awesome spectrum.

Just food for thought

um, Galaxy ballasts will fire up Ushido bulbs, even in a wing or aftermarket hood even

I'm in a 4x4 with a non cooled 600w the cheap ebay kind. I do pretty good with it tho. I keep a large fan on the bulb at max with 8in ducting attached to the other side of the bulb going to a 420 cfm 8in booster fan. That helps with heat. I postition my tent against an open window with another large fan blowing air onto the tent which gets sucked in at the bottom by 2 6in boosters.

I can't wait I'm gonna be running perpetual flood and drain scrog with 2 months vegg under 8 60w led t5 florescents

just saying most digital ballasts play nice with most bulbs and they all play nice with all hoods/reflectors.

nobody investigates the compatibility of one bulb in one ballast, ever. move on. its a moot point.
buy a ballast, buy a bulb, buy a reflector, now plug that shit in already. goddam

start looking into important things like air conditioning, dehumidifier, air flow, c02 augmentation, soil builds, organic gardening, pest controls,

I already got all the other aspects covered im upgrading an existing grow. I've been led to believe that different bulbs won't work as well with different ballasts like a solis tek ballast and gavita bulb. Like I've read that three times in other pages via Google. So that's why I had that notion in my head.

My co2 is covered because I'm pulling all intake air from outside directly. When it gets warmer all air will be coming from outside still, just through AC unit. Hopefully tho with an air cooled hood I won't have to worry about hear to much.

Are you running a DE?

DE means double ended HID fixture

For led in a 4 x 4 I’d recommend an Optic 6 or Spectrum King SK400 from what me and my friends have experience with. I’m sure there are many diy led options too if you’re into that

Only looking to spend about $350 max. Ushido Bulb is 100 yield lab fixture 100 and galaxy DE 1000w ballast is 150
But idk if this will be the IDEAL (highest par rating) fixture because of the separate brands

So now comes the question did you know i was talking about Double Ended when u made this reply? Because it's more complicated the ballast has to be 100000kHz and the certain bulbs have higher oar readings with different bulbs.

Ballast is gonna be galaxy. That's for certain. But I'll be dammed if I pay 400+... When I could just buy a new bulb and air cooled hood for my current hps and get another 600 with air cooled hood for $180
