i have 6 seedlings that are 12 days old. i have checked the soil n its at almost 8 towards the alkaline side. i dont know how to get it back to the normal range of 6.5 to 7. is this bad? right now i have just some potting soil with perlite n vermiculite in it.

i still have the same potting soil n added some peat moss compost mixed in with it so when i transplant them that's what i will be using. will that help balance out the ph in the soil? my babies were doing fine till i added 4 23w cfls to the LED panel i am using.

the leaves seem to be dropping somewhat also, could that be from overwatering them? i have not added any nutes yet. i also bought some garden lime to add to the new soil mix i will use to transplant them when the time is right. will that help neutralize the ph in the soil also?

the temp are around 80 to 85f. i dont have ventalation so i keep the door open with two fans blowing on them to circulate the air around n that seems to help bring the temps down.

any advice is greatly appreciated, plz help. i am a new grower n dont want my babies to die on me.. i would be very sad..

HELP PLEASE!!!! Thank YOU very MUCH....

A little lemon juice will lower it, or you could work in some dolomite lime. If you use lemon juice dilute alot, its very acidic. Maybe someone knows a tried and true mix for it.

Go to your local grocery store and look at the 1 gallon jugs of water. They should have a selection of drinking, spring, etc. Get one of each (as they're cheap) and check the pH with pool strips. Use the ones that have a weird pH for your personal drinking stash. Use the one that has around a 6.5 pH for your girlies. You totally need to load up on it.

To fix your current issue, just flush with the pHed water and you're good (use at least 2-3x the pot size..ex: 1 gallon pot = 2-3 gallons of pHed water, etc). Use that bottled water, and you're even better. Drop back to a regular watering schedule once your soil dries out. Good luck. :weed:

Yes, work it into the existing soil, try to get it about 6-8" down without disturbing your plants. If you haven't transplanted (I think I answered a transplant post of yours) maybe you wanna do it sooner and put them into your ph balanced mix with the dolomite. If the ph was low it would create lockout and real young plants dont use much nutrients anyways. The alkeline creates toxicity, but its only slightly high so they are not in immediate danger. Have you tested the water you use? This could be the culptit.

Another thing is organic seaweed extract. I like Maxicrop because it's inexpensive and easy to find. You can find it at your local nursery or even your grocery store if it has a nursery section.

So just flush with just straight pHed water only. On the last gallon of water use a full cap (1 full dose) of Maxicrop. It acts as a steroid for your plant to encourage new growth. It also helps with stress. It's organic so you can't really overdose with this stuff. It will make your chicas perk up, almost immediately. Read up on it and you will understand why I am a FIRM believer in it! It's more essential than nutes in my opinion. You can use it throughout your grow and your chicas absolutely LOVE IT!

Have fun growing it up. Later!
