HELP! MY PLANTS DYING and i dont know what to do!!! :(

HI
I am new to growing and all was going well for the first 7 weeks but then the tips of the leaves started going yellow and after a most of the leaves went yellow then drooped and went crusty and brown at the edges so i pulled them all off but now all the new leaves are doing the same! Am panicking because only 1 of the 5 plants did it but now the others are going the same way - HELP PLEASE!!! x :-? PICTURES ATTACHED!

Your plant may be rootbound, try a bigger pot possibly. Do you give them nutrients? Is it under/overwatered?

I Think I Have Been Over Watering And Maby Too Much Nitrogen. Have Been Feeding Them Nitrogen Rich Tomato Plant Food Every 1 - 2 Days

and u are prob nute burning them, make sure ur using 1/4 strg of what the bottle says.

need more info .. more then willing to help

thats not rootbond

when a plant is rootbond it yellows from the bottom up kinda like alack of N.

The lamp is about 3 feet from the tops. I dont know what the PH is, i have not been monitoring it unfortunately. I have been giving full strength plant food every couple of days so i think from what i have read they have locked out their nutes. any way to fix that?

Go to a Hydroponic Store buy ur self a PH Pen and PPM meter

ppmmetter -$40

phmetter- about the same depends on what one u buy

PH has a HUGE roll on ur plants growth to acid it will lock out nutrients that ur plants NEED to basic same thing ur PH has to be just right --PH 6.5 is the best level for ur plants at this range the plants get every thing they need.

With out checking ur PH man... straight up ur plants Will die ..sorry to say in but PH just has a big impact on ur plants growth.

Flush. Use 4-5 gallons in a 2 gallon pot or 2-3 for a 1 gallon pot. Let it dry then start them on 1/4 strength the next water. If they respond well increase the nutes to 1/2 and so on....

PPM stand for Parts Per Million it lets u know how much of any substance is in ur water

here is PH- ( i got this info from GrowFaq from this forum)The pH scale measures how acidic, or how alkali a given solution is.

The term pH can be broken down into two parts; the first is the [p], this represents the mathematical symbol for -log (negative logarithm) of the number in question. The “H” stands for Hydrogen, and is represented by the chemical symbol [H] So the correct way to write this down is a small p, and a capital H (pH).

The pH scale is basically a rough guide as to how many Hydrogen ions are present in any given substance; the more hydrogen ions are present, the more acidic the substance becomes. The pH of distilled water is 7.0, this is neutral. Any solution with a pH below 7.0 (i.e. pH 1.0 to pH 6.9) is an acid and any solution with a pH above 7 (i.e. pH 7.1 to pH 14) is an alkali. The pH scale is logrithmic, that is, a pH 6.0 solution is 10 times more acidic than a pH 7.0 solution (pH 5.0 is 100x more than 7.0!).

Acidic solutions have a pH between 1 and 6.9 (your stomach contains HCl it is pH2).

Alkaline solutions have a pH between 7.1 and 14. (your small intestine is pH 9).

Neutral solutions are neither acidic nor alkaline so their pH is 7.

Acids all produce Hydrogen ions (H+). Acids like Hydrochloric acid produce lots of Hydrogen ions; this is because when Hydrogen Chloride gas dissolves in water the molecules of Hydrogen Chloride dissociate into Hydrogen ions and Chloride ions.

HCl = H+ + Cl-

Water also dissociates to produce ions, this time it is Hydrogen ions and Hydroxyl ions.

H2O = H+ + OH-

Sodium Hydroxide also dissociates to produce ions when it is dissolved in water, this time it is Sodium ions and Hydroxyl ions.

NaOH = Na+ + OH-

In each case, we can measure or calculate the concentration of Hydrogen ions present. We use the symbol [H+], we use square brackets to mean that it is the concentration of Hydrogen ions.

In HCl Hydrogen Chloride solution or Hydrochloric acid [H+] = 0.01

In H2O water [H+] = 0.0000001

In NaOH Sodium Hydroxide solution [H+] = 0.00000000000001

We count the decimal places from the first number, and that is where the pH scale is derived from.

HCl = pH2

H2O = pH7

NaOH = pH14

So to recap if the pH is low, it means that there is a high concentration of Hydrogen ions and if the pH is high it means that there is very low concentration of Hydrogen ions or none at all. Water and other neutral solutions are in the middle at pH7.

here is PPM-( best i could find) Parts-per notation is often used in the measure of dilutions (concentrations) in chemistry; for instance, for measuring the relative abundance of dissolved minerals or pollutants in water. The expression “1 ppm” means a given property exists at a relative proportion of one part per million parts examined, as would occur if a water-borne pollutant was present at a concentration of one-millionth of a gram per gram of sample solution.

My tap water after leaving it out for a day is usualy ROUND 7.8-8.0 WAY to high ...should be 6.5 for soil growers and 5.5 for hydro growers
