Help needed , kind of a newbie

Hey all,

i'am new here and not totally new on growing but i never managed to produce quality buds before or decent yield was a first gen grower on LED in 2012.
Recently i moved and got an tent from 120cmx120cmx200cm i'm gonna reuse my brothers softbox 1500m3/h that i dim with an variac to 30% to run my 480cfm filter so it sounds quite . for pots i dont know what to pick , i cant choose between AutoPot 1Pot XL 4 Smartpot system 18.5L fabric or AutoPot 1Pot 4 Starter Set 15.5L plastic
soil i got 2 sacks of 50L plagron royal mix (organic) and a starterkit of biotabs to grow fully biological and not need to meassure my PH of my water.
My real question is: i dont have all the parts at the moment but i got the seeds and was thinking can i germinate them already and put them in a small pott and start vegging them with some led bulbs and led strips ?i have also a blurple led from 90W(real socket draw) that i can add but in the first week of the seedling this seems me not needed?
Also i plan to DIY400W led light when its time for flowering i think going with samsung 3000K gen mod f3 strips since i don"t use it for vegging it instead of 3500K.

So my key questions are :
Thoughts about the pots ? will fabric be substantional better for the 40bucks more , also what about 15.5 L plastic against 18.5L fabric?
Should i germinate when i dont have all my parts ? (because i think every day won is a day faster medicinal tomatoes :D)
What is the minimal light i could use for vegging in like the first days of the seedling and when should i start using my blurple?
Should i get 3000K strips or 3500K if i use the blurple for veg . or should i build it so i can use it for veg and bloom on my next run and ditch te minimal led/bluple setup for veg.
Thanks for helping and sorry for the messy post and horrible english :p

I like the fabric bags but nothing wrong with plastic, just make sure they are able to drain well.

I would as you can keep them under a small fluorescent light the first several weeks...I just transplanted seedlings that I started in red solo cups about a month ago.

What is the minimal light i could use for vegging in like the first days of the seedling and when should i start using my blurple?
A flourescent would be minimal, kept close, or your blurple, also kept close...I have old blurples I use for starting and vegging.

Should i get 3000K strips or 3500K if i use the blurple for veg . or should i build it so i can use it for veg and bloom on my next run and ditch te minimal led/bluple setup for veg.
Use the blurple for veg and get something better for flowering...I use HPS still and that's the cheapest way to go if you can deal with the heat....but a nice new LED would be great in a tent.
Thanks for helping and sorry for the messy post and horrible english :p
Not horrible, and welcome to RIU:bigjoint:

I strongly recommend fabric bags for every reason. Go ahead and start seeds. Any decent light from CFL to a cheap blurple will cover for a week or more. Your light temperature is up to you. If you plan to use it in flower I’d go 3000 myself.

Do some reading and go here to the LED lighting thread for real information on LED and building them.

Thanks for the reply !
About the pot drainage that will be no problem since it are autopots they are connected to a smart aquavalve that waters them from below automaticly only when they need water .
You have these in 15L plastic or 18.5L fabric. the only thing i like more is that in the15L kit i can order a spliting plastic so i can fit 4 smaller plants (seedlings) in one pot until they are big enough to go in there bigger pots so they get automatic water. in the 18.5L fabric pots you can"t do that and need i to water them myself in smaller pots.

About germinating i already started after reading your advice i had in 24 hour already some roots popping out so i think the genetics are really good.
my friend got a propagator kit and i"mgonna put them there until there are 2 small round leafs.

For the lights i dont want to use hps . its scary power hungry and very hot :p i also dont trust the electric part on hps . i'm gonna build a costum led light in a month and hope that my seedlings will be big enough to flip it to flower by then.
Found some top shelf led"s from samsung with a efficacy of 171lm/W .
For vegging i will use my blurple since i can get my hands on two for free . they arent the very cheap ones , but deffently not so good as the new white led's so i dont need to spend extra money .

how long do you veg most of your plants? since its my first time non auto's inside i dont really have a clue of how log vegging wil take.
Also when do i repot the plant best. and in what stage do i use which medium? because i heard that my plagron royale mix maybe will be to over feeded for my seedlings.

Thanks for answering.

I personally veg for 6-8 weeks but I am growing in soil and have pretty good ceiling height, so I can grow large plants.

Just remember they will probably double in size when you flip the lights to flower cycle, so don't over crowd yourself.

It sounds like you are off to a good start!!

Why put 4 seedlings in one pot? Roots tangle. Asking for problems.
Also I’d recommend hand watering this grow. Much better control. Considering your history.
Seedlings with leaves will handle bag soil. Just don’t add nutes for a few weeks. Not sure where you are or what they sell there as far as soil, but anything with a 3,4,5 week charge of nutrients will be good.
Keep things simple.

I hope it will be better this time than back in 2012.
I don't want high plants I will be growing mainly indiça and will try a SOG or LST.
The strais for this grow will be blue cheese from greenhouse seeds and bubbakush from royal queen seeds.
Both are plants from the 100cm a 150 cm range. Choose for their lovely taste and Bubba kush tends to be one with high yields approx 750gr a 850 gr M2 but we will see that later I will be happy with 200grams total for now with the 400w led custom light.
Have a nice day thanks for the help

its a splitter so you can use one pot as 4 3 liter pots . for watering my chose has been made because i can not go to water everyday the plants with my job so it must be a autopot . just doubting about fabric or plastic .
For the soil i searched for some seedling soil that isnt heavy pre feed so i think they survive that.
in my history bad wattering problems where one of the bases that my yield was not so big.
i live in Belgium so its not the best country to find all stuff.
