Help-no sporut

Hello everyone,

I have had my seeds placed in jiffy pellets since the start. They have cracked and showing a small white root (1-2mm). They are under 18:6 lighting (200w 6400K envirolite). The second day of light has passed and there are no signs of any sprout. Im worried. . .

Is this normal?
How often should I be watering them because they seem to dry out quickly.

Hey there DJR, sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I would suggest making sure your pellets are "moist" everyday. Also, I always put humidity domes over my starts, either zip-loc bags or glass bowls. Something that will help raise your humidity like a dome will help your start root, it can often take 3-5 days for a sprout to emerge from your medium. Are you using pH'd water? I would also recommend 24/0 of light for the first 2 weeks (seedling stage), the plant loves having the non-stop light energy readily available. Hey thanks for the reply. I have just put the lids for the plastic vontainers over them to maintain humidity. I am using ph 6.5 - 7 water mixed with 1/4 strength root stimulator. Having to water with sprayer in small quantities everty 3/4 hours as the light is drying the pellets out.
