Help on Best Time to Harvest

Hi all,I've just checked my plants and some of the trichomes are milky on some but not on others.I've got ten blue cheese plants on day 46 flowering(six to eight weeks flowering for blue cheese) and four out of the ten are completely milky, covered in frost but only about 30% of the pistills are amber. The other six plants have the same amount of amber pistills but the trichomes are totally clear. As this is my first grow,i don't want to harvest too late or too early,I've looked at the thread for harvesting and curing and the pictures in the thread say that the pistills should be more amber but what if the trichomes have already turned milky.Do I wait for more pistills to turn amber or take the milky ones out of the grow room and put them into my dark room for 72 hours then harvest?????:wall:

In fact,I've just checked all of the plants again and 8 out of the ten have milky trichomes and about 50% of the pistills are amber so what i need to know is do you leave them for a few more days or put them in darkness now and harvest them in 3 days???

50% amber pistils, you're getting close. You probably should wait a few more days, a week at max. Once you start drying etc the rest of the pistils will turn red

let all them pistols receed back into the bud, u av technicaly ten days to go, but that dont mean shit only that ur close ( very ) i av harvested on day 42 and got gr8 weed not as much as wud of had add it gone the distance but choppin early just means a diferent type of high n a lil less bud, more milky trichs give head high, amber triches give a more couch lock affect,,, i av done both and both r gr8, urs cud b chopped now n u wud be happy , but obviosly dont !! when the triches start to go amber not the pistols then the thc is starting to deteriate into CBN u may only want a little of these and more milky ! i just chopped at 10% amber triches !!

I can't hardly see 50% amber at 8 weeks. That much amber by the way, means it has gone too far. More than a few amber and it is degrading. BUT, I'm surprised it is that far along in only 8 weeks. Did you try looking at samples from several locations on each plant?
