Help Outdoor Winter Grow???? (12/12 from Seed) with Pics

Okay so i plan on putting my plant outside when its mature enough but it is a seedling on the windowsill now and Im just wondering what will happen if i was to put it outside now...do you think its too young for the winter or shall it survive...I dont plan on actually planting it in the ground..It wil be in a container. Im afraid that the wind might snap it (its weak stretched stem) or the cold weather will kill it (and animals are no concern)...What do ya think RIU??? Should I Wait??.....P1000953.jpgP1000952.jpg

Thanks....I guess I'll wait...and i will be starting some in the Actual grow season...this was just a first time thing and i know that at this time of year outdoors is just basicall 12/12 and that it will flower as soon as its mature...so all i needed to know is if i would be able to put it outside cuz i was considering it due to the fact that we get weather about 67 degrees here in GA sometimes and I see outdoor winter grows on youtube but I see that the smart thing to do is wait until its Mature ...Thanks ALot!! :bigjoint:

Your light cycle is also moving in the wrong direction for a 12/12 as well outdoors, or even in that window. You can veg for a while, but eventually it will flower for a bit. Then come April, that poor girl won't know what to do b/c the days keep getting longer. I had one hermie like that due to light cycle stress last year(I was lazy). I've grown entire plants during Winter using only sunlight, but you have to maintain proper schedule regardless.

That means starting the 21st of next month, you'll have to find a way to get them out of the light as opposed to what you are doing now in order to maintain 12/12. And that my friend is a real bitch without an indoor lighting set-up. You would have to physically move the plant twice daily in and out of a closet or other dark place religiously. I actually used to do that, then I found I had no social life b/c I had to be home at the same times every single day for 2 months...lol.

I was afraid of that.....What if I put it in a Shaded area that is North Facing where it will barely get sunlight...would that work or is my only hope what you said, forcing me to throw my social life away lol

I don't get what's the problem? why would they start flowering if days are getting longer inside of that window just like in nature? too early?

Thats the thing....What Sunbiz1 just explained is that it wouldnt flower because the days are becoming longer...but I actually want them to flower soon instead confusing it (I planted at the wrong time) and causing it to hermie I will try to imitate Mother Nature as best as I can by artificially making the days shorter .....that is when its old enough

All plants when reaching a certain age will begin to flower, some sooner than others depending on strain. And all will flower generally when there is less than 13 hours of light. I used to keep plants from flowering by simply having a light on a timer in the same room. A simple CFL bulb left on for a few hours after dark will keep them in veg state/awake.

Grow the plant until it shows sex, then go from there. You're fine for a month, but once you exceed 12 hours you'll have to find a way to keep it at 12.

Look at the grass outside your window in those pics...does it look like it's time?.
Yeahh!!! First mow of the new year is a foolproof way of when to plant.

Next year start your grow in September or October then it will be a winter grow. Or just whenever you harvest your outdoor

Welcome, good luck, stranger.

Yea....I actually did start a grow at that time..(my first grow) but I ended up killing it and it took a while until i got a new seed and got this babe goin....Im just hoping she will either Mature fast and flower or Dont mature and keep veging...I would hate to confuse her...well im hoping its a her

You can do it. You got the basic idea down and a spring harvest will work giving your temps. Here what you can do:

Start a few more NOW! Then put them outdoor for sun all day and back in at a night under a light for 24 hours of light for the next month. Better light=better growth. Grow them as big as possible.
Around mid march just leave em out side in the sunniest spot possible and stop taking them indoors and just let the natural 12/12 hour light cycle flower your plants.
9 weeks later mine are usually done. Last year I put them out on March 27th(the latest you should put them out) and a few started to show vegatative spurts coming out of the top of the buds right at 9 weeks but still harveted good buds.

This year I will probably put them out 1st or 2nd week in march. If you have cool night temps this will slow growth and produce more leafy looking bud but it will still produce tons of trichomes :-P

Good Luck to ya!!

I would do the Bring it out and back in thing but I cant with my Daily Schedule....Good Idea but wont work for Me....Next Grow I will be More prepared..
