Hi guys/girls please can you take 2 minutes to have a look at my 19/20 day old cannabis plant, all was going fine until about 4 days ago when the a few of the leaves started to curl upwards :( I am very worried about this as I DO NOT want this to die as it has had my full attention for over 2 weeks :???:. it seems to be the oldish leaves that are fully affected by this but not the new ones but I can see slight upwards leaves on the newish leaves, hope you can make sense of that lol. This is my first grow btw so i'm still learning. It is grown in soil from seed, grown under 150W HPS on a cycle of 18/6 (I know this light may be too strong for a plant so young but money is an issue for me because I got made redundant and now low on cash). I have a oscillating fan blowing on the plant, it is a closet grow by the way. All I want is some advice/help/guidance please I am I fretting over what is causing this curling of the leaves and don't want my hard work go to waste. Please look at my pics and get back to me ASAP. Picture one is at 14 days, and the rest of them are at 19/20 days. All help/feedback will be massively appreciated. :weed:

Thank You.

yea they look good dude, just a little spicy weather for her thats all :), you shouldn't start worrying about the leaf curl until it gets really severe.. just pop up the lights an inch or two and it should sort itself out

Richinweed you sound like the man ! Cheers dude, should I take 420couples advice or not ? To tell you the truth ive given them a very small and I mean extremely small does of nutes the past couple of feeds, and when I mean small I mean exactly 2 drops into a litre of water. Should I stick to JUST water until I can check my PH or should I carry on with the small amount of nutes ?

Cheers for the reply mate, the 150W HPS is currently about 12-14 inches from the top of the plant, ive been told that they will stretch if they go any further away but im not sure if that info is reliable enough so is there any chance that you can explain how far away the light can be from the light plant without causing bad stretching.

Thanks dude.

Hi Swisher, I am using IONIC GROW for veg and IONIC BLOOM for flowering, I have only used nutes twice upto now at a very very weak dose, id say 1/8 of recommended that is all that I used because I am paranoid about giving them to much nutes so I do the small amounts because id rather be safe than sorry. Should I up it or lower it ? This is my first grow so like you said it is a learning experience but I don't want my hard work go to waste so id rather get advice of people like you first. I had my light about 6-7 inches from the top of the plants but since I was told that might be too close I have now moved them to about 12-14 inches away. Please can someone lead me on the right path as this is sending me crazy lol.

Not to mention if it was heat from the lights it wouldn't be the bottom leaves affected first, it would be the top leaves closest to the light...I wouldn't give them any at all...and also for real check your pH...

Oops I was trying to say I wouldn't give them any nutes at all for a little bit and see if everything rights itself, but they were really just as curly in the first pics as in the last...is it possible she is outgrowing the pot she is in? If not then I chalk it up to seedlings are weird and she may have just been slightly over nuted...but I am not sure of that to tell the truth...

The problem is he has been giving them hardly any nutes at all and I agree I don't think it is a light issue.

First of all I understand being on a budget BUT nutes are really important! I use Fox Farm products and am familiar with Ionic. Follow the schedule don't be afraid. Your lights are not that strong I use 400's and 600's and keep them 10' on the 600 and 6'on the 400. So your lights aren't that close and could be closer. Plants are resilient so they will come back.

Hi Missnu cheers for the reply, your rep says it all :) Ok so should I just feed them water for say like a week and see if the problem resolves or give them more nutes like someone said later in this post, I really am stuck at a crossroad here, also like we said about the lights, could I move them closer than the 12-13inch that they are or should I just leave them ?

Cheers for the reply mate, I have two post that are conflicting each other, yours and missnu post. One says give nute's and the other say's don't so Im stuck here lol. Should I just try both over say 2 weeks and see how I get on ?

You need to Ph your runoff, make sure you are where you need to be, then go from there....BTW, if you are NOT Phing your water AFTER adding nutes, you are making a mistake. Ionic is alot like Fox Farms, once you add the Big bloom/Grow Big.Tiger Bloom etc etc, your PH is WAY low.....gotta bring it back up to 6.5 using Ph up.....
