Help please! My seedling is dying

I'm growing two plants in coco coir with three CFLs on for 24hrs. One plant sprouted two days ago and is growing healthily, but the other plant is having problems. She sprouted yesterday and took a lot longer than the first plant to stand up straight and her leaves are yellow and shrivelled.



Also, there are small white crystals formed around the sick seedling, any idea what could have caused them? Or if they are the cause of the problems? The stem seems fine but the first round leaves are shrivelled.

I water both plants with the same tap water pH'ed to around 5.5. Yesterday I added 1ml of Vega Start to a litre of water, could the problem be adding the nutrient too early? The bottle says it's designed for seedlings...

My other plant is fine with the nutrients though.


I'd really appreciate any help! Is there any way to save her?

Or might be dissolved minerals which become salts and buildup in potted plants

Put it in a open container a day or two before you water or boil so that it distills the water

Okay thanks, I'll try that fingers crossed I can save her! So you don't think the nutrients might cause problems? Should I carry on using them in 1/4 doses?
