freagin awesome dude ..i probably shouldnt take to much off at a time though eh
Nah get stuck into 'em.
Sooner the 'floral hormones' are travelling to the tops instead of producing pissy pop-corn buds the better.
It will increase the size of your tops by 20%.
Happy Hacking!

I havent harvested yet...ive only cut down one plant because it matured much faster than all the rest..i guess it was more of an indica phenotype. The one plant only yeilded half an OZ because three of the plants in the room were started 3 weeks ahead and took over the room..leaving the jack flash with no room to grow...so i wont be getting much jack from this grow...itll be mostly arjans ultra haze #1...ive got about 3 weeks to go before harvest

So turns out that little JF plant gave me 15 grams dry. I have tested it out a few times and it gets better and better..ive also gotten some input from friends that smoke more than i do and they said it was incredible...funny thing is it hasnt even been cured yet.

The Haze's callyxes are really starting to fatten up FINALY. Still have about 3 weeks to go and at this point I feel comfortable with saying the buds are gunna turn out just fine...things coulda gone a little smoother but ill be planning it all out perfectly for the next go around.

here are some new pics of the girls..enjoy!

wait so quick question... i missed out where you were able to fix the seedlings falling or collapsing?

Im having similar problems.. and I'm a first time grower (DWC). Iironically i first grew 6 LSD / 6 Snow white. Due to some other problems, and mistakes of my own.. i lost 7 of the plants.. but still have 5. 3 LSD and 2 SW left. And although they have minor deficiencies (i use them for moms so its expected).. otherwise they are fine. So this would indicate that im not a complete retard that cant grow.

However, upon taking clone cuttings off the moms.. nothing has worked so far. Im getting depressed from this shit now.. all my money is in this. Clones are all dying.. at first i thought i didn't have enough light. So now i got 2 Y splitters (4 27w 5500K bulbs) on these clones and they still die. Next, i figured it was that i never fixed my PH on the RW cubes.. and i tested runoff on these clones and PH was up at ilke 8. So fixed it up.. blah blah blah and sat back to wait yet again. Its been like another 2 wks now.. these clones are like dying (the dying ones already thrown out). Theres 6 of them now.. and they are kind of in limbo. They are not dead, but dont necesarily have roots.. they have bumps on the stem where it was cut so its indicating roots are supposed to come, but they just sittin there not growing.

I water the RW cubes only when its dry.. and the CFL bulbs are about a little less than 3 inches above the clones.

If you bothered reading this much.. i tried starting fresh seedlings now hopefully just to tell myself i can actually grow something and that these mothers i got aren't a complete fluke. But these seedlings are just not doing shit either.. At first they grew.. the blueberry seed was growing real good in fact, but then at about 1.5 in high, it just stopped growing.. and then a day later it collapsed. I had it supported and now its basically thinned out to like a thread.. i guess that ones dead. The other 2 which were slower than the blueberry were coming around a few days ago.. and now also collapsed. Strange thing is thees 2 are only about 1 inch High and definitely not stretching IMO...

I have absolutely no idea wtf is going on. I've always had a dome on the clones (and seedlings).. and now ive even removed the damn dome just to see if would help, but still nothing.

I just dont understand.. i seem to have all the bases covered but this shit is like rocket science. I got temps in my grow closet at 78-80, humidity is 35% to 40%, got the 4 CFL bulbs.. got PH at exactly 6.0. I mean wtf do i have to do?

clones should be in the dome with like 80% humidity or higher im pretty sure...for the seedlings youre gunna want to have some air circulation in the room for. Im really blown right now so I cant get into good detail about it but i think its either that you need to use distilled water with pretty much no fertilizer in it..something like 50 -150 ppm, or its that you need better airflow in the room with the seedlings.

Wiz is right, you need really high humidity for successful cloning.
Temps need to be around 25C too in your dome. Use a heating mat if poss'.
I mist the dome as well when I can, rather than misting the cuttings.
If you mist the cuttings to much you won't encourage root growth.
Good idea keeping your RW Dryer than too moist, but don't let it dry out completely.
Always water the RW from the bottom.
Just a quick dip in solution is all that's required.
Learn to judge RW moisture levels by weight.
You get there chusett ;)

Hey thanks guys! Appreciate the input.

Basically, not to brag, but as you can tell.. being a newb first time grower.. im not completely lost or 100% fuckin it up.. i hv a good idea of what i need to do.

I guess its just frustrating and depressing when i totally thought i could do this.. and it ends up really being the rocket science that i feared for years. I just always made sure of my temps , my water PH and the lights as my top 3 priorities. Since i figure my closet itself is about 78-80 deg, i figured it must be as such inside the dome. With the humidity issue.. i even had pple tell me they can root without even a dome.. so i thought low humidity wasnt a dealbreaker. I'll get the mat once i can, and it'll help with the Humidity.

I ll try a heat mat i guess.. and some other guy told me give rapid rooters a shot, it cant hurt and cant be worse than RW cubes. I also raised the lights a bit.. the 4 27w 5500K bulbs were only about 2-3 inches away.

One thing i definitely think i messed up on is that i ALWAYS misted the cuttings and even seedlings. Like about 4 times a day. So thats a fuckup in itself, because now i realize i think the seedlings shouldn't even be in the same tray as the cuttings, and secondly only the dome should be misted. With my PH on the cubes completely off at first.. maybe these little girls never recovered?

I'll keep at it i guess.. and thanks again guys.

BTW.. heres some pics in case it gives you guys any indication of any clearcut mistakes im making..

heres the cuttings about 1.5 wks ago.. looking pretty sad, but at least looking like MJ.

now here are the girls now.. im embarassed to even post these. (seedlings are at the near right corner, the 2 near ones are dropping. The further one is basically dead, i just keep it in there for no reason. Stem thinned out to a thread already.

heres a closeup of just the seedlings

Heres an overall pic of my closet.. at least im proud of my moms!

I think you have the right idea. I think rapid rooters might be a good thing to try. With this next go around just make sure youve got your seedlings and clones separated...if your PH is consistantly good and the humidity in the dome is always high I think you will have some nice clones on your hands...with the RW cubes were u using a rooting hormone on the cuttings you took?

oh yea and what kind of water are you using?...and are you putting anything in it?

Nope i dont use anything in the water.. i just use poland spring bottled water. I tested it and the bottled water is always 6.0 ph so i dont even adjust it.

But no i havnet fed them nutes or ferts or anything.. which is why this whole thing is so mind boggling to me.

In terms of your other post, yep i use RootOne rooting hormone on my cuttings, i cant say if it helps or not as this is my first grow and all the cuttings are failed so i dunno.

But bottom line i think you're right, i'll try the RR, it can't hurt.. and i now actually think if there IS a big mistake im making it would be not separating the cuttings and seedlings, and along with that i dont have a heat mat which is probably an issue.

Quick question is... do seedlings need any kind of lid/dome on them once they have germinated? Because what i did this time around was I had cuttings and seedlings in ONE big cloining tray, with a dome on it so im not sure if that actually hurts the seedlings , along with my mistings on the cuttings can possibly mess it up too.

For me once seedlings crack through the surface they don't need a dome over them.
Mine go straight under a 400w.
It shouldn't hurt them too much if they are in a dome though.

When it comes to misting clones I still do it just not all the time.
They have no real way of obtaining moisture when cut so they do need to absorb some through there foliage.
I mist mine once a day but I do the dome cover all the time.

I would also suggest using some Propagation solution instead of just plain water.
Water should work but I use Dutchmaster APS - Advanced Propagating Solution it runs about 800ppm.
Some people use a low dose of bloom nutes which works well.
When watering RW always dip the bottom of the cube into the solution for a couple of seconds and thats enough.
Never water them from the top, you'll rot your stems.

Your clones don't look too bad from those pics, I wouldn't give up on them just yet.
Seedlings may be getting to much moisture around their stems if they're thinning out which is first sign of stem rot.
Water those cubes from the bottom and it will fix that.

All the best.

Hey Wiz, lets see some pics of those haze girls soon hey?
They must be lookin pretty darn good.

Thats another thing i gotta definitely get ASAP.. is a ppm meter. Even though my mothers need the ppm meter more.. it would help my grow overall. My moms are doing pretty OK overall though, its just with a ppm meter i can at least test the bottled water, or even my tap water, im really interested in my tap water ppm.

I also have to somehow redo my grow set up then.. because i hv this closet.. and as you can see theres the bottom and then the upper shelf. I put my seedlings together with the clone cuttings in the one tray because of space, so now i have to either put those seedlings somewhere else (where theres a light fixture) , or redo that upper shelf in my closet.

I dunno though man.. i dont want to give up on these cuttings either but literally its been sitting around like that for almost 2 wks, strange thing is its got these white bumps at the bottom which indicates roots are coming.. they just dont come.

How important overall do you think the dutchmaster prop nutes are?? Like would you think you yourself could be successful without it as long as other factors are right? Because i understand that with this first grow of mine, i most definitely am lacking alot of stuff and supplements etc etc but for now im basically just trying to figure out what my problem might be in that i cant root a cutting or seedling. In other words, i know theres a lot of products out there for me to "optimize" my grow , but for now im just trying to root.

Thanks again for the advice!

omygosh.. i just read your post very carefully (mammath) and i realize what my problem is.

Instead of JUSt dipping the bottom 1/4 of the RW cube into water when its dry... i also used an eye dropper thingy and dropped about a ml of water directly into the RW hole (directly onto stem) like once a day. DAMNIT!!!

And the irony is.. i only did that when i thought the plants were drying/curling/dying due to not enough water. For example the blueberry seedling i had that thinned out to a thread of a stem.. i would use the eyedropper on that thinking it was drying out on me LOL.

Its just plants are so complex to be honest. I've tore though plant deficiency websites or guides and i honestly thought mine were underwatered.. they were curling UPwards and the seedling cotyledons were crisping.

Is it possible that my plants ARE showing underwatered signs.. due to me overwatering it and screwing up the RW environment so much that its not able to absorb??

Sorry to hijack your journal Wiz but I'll just add one more comment about cloning.

It sounds like you may be doing a few things wrong there mate.
Underwatered or overwatered is hard to tell from so far away lol.
If your clones are showing nubs but won't grow roots is because they don't need to.
You keep dropping water in or around the nubs and they won't develop.
They don't need to.
This why you always water from the bottom to encourage the cutting to produce roots to chase the water.
Same goes for the seedlings.
They won't grow roots and develop if you keep soaking around the stem.
Not only that, your keeping the part of the cube that needs to be the driest, the most moist.
This will cause stem rot every time.
The top of the cube around the stem should never be wet.
Infact the top of the cube should be kept pretty dry.
I'm sure you will see improvement as soon as you stop watering from the top around the stem.

yea that sounds like some pretty solid advice..i think he will see some results now..no problem i dont care if ppl post with their issues..I can relate. So yea I have taken down a couple of the plants and 2 of the bigs ones are still in there and im waiting for them to get around 70% red hairs. I was going to buy a scope but the hydro store by my house only had one shity one so i didnt get it..here are are few pics of the stuff ive cut down over the past week or so...ive got them hanging vertically in cardboard boxes..ive got 3 boxes full so far and alot more to come...all the jacks have been cut down by the way..only 2 of them really yeilded anything unfortunately..

Yea bro.. thanks for all the advice man. You definitely did point out a critical mistake i've been making. Right now my priority is to get my heat mat, and redo my setup to grow the seedlings at the diff spot. I just always heard about people using an eye dropper at first and now i think maybe it was for soil.

Do you think those cuttings can survive then?? I haven't watered them for the last 40 hours.

And dude Wiz those nugs are looking damn good in that box.. lol i wish i had some. I was going to give arjan haze # 1 a shot awhile back but ended up never ordering them. I wanted them coz i wanted something smaller.. but good stuff man!
