how should i do this? i want a decent sized plant, leaning towards 3ft-5ft. when should i transplant my plant from a 16oz cup to my 3gallon pot? is there a difference between transplanting it from a seedling to a 3gallon pot and waiting a few weeks before you transplant? my most important questions i want answered is.. is there a big difference between a plant in a 5gallon pot vs a 3gallon pot? what is the maximum height for 3 gallon pots? how can you tell if the roots are root bound? if they bound up in the last few weeks of flowering, will the plant survive till harvest?
THANKS, im really concerned about this whole pot sizing.. this is my first grow, and i want to see a tree!:fire:

if u have a plant in a cup transplant asap....transplanting early reduces stress factors and chances of root bound.....the key to good plant development is good root development....the bigger ur pot, the bigger it can get...i would suggest like a 2x2x2 pot, maybe even bigger if u want a monster

thanks, good advice. you think i can stretch vegetation an extra 2 weeks, or is that a risky operation?

every gallon of pot size will help with 1 foot tall. So a 3 gallon pot should be good for a 3 foot plant.

You can stretch vegetation for as long as you'd like. Some mother plants perpetually remain in veg. for a LONG time. Obviously, your plant will be even bigger when it flowers the longer you let it veg. (unless you LST).

What sized light are you flowering this tree under? If it's a low wattage I'd train it to keep it low. If it's outside then go as big as you can :)

ok. last time i grew a plant, it was like a month and a half and they were about a foot and a half tall. so if i went into flowing then, do you think i woulda made it? i say that cause i ended up throwing out because the landlord was coming over to check stuff out.
