Help With Easy bud Seedling

Hi all,

So I germinated my Easy bud seed using the papertowl method all was good she popped in just over one day.

I then put her in the soil about 2cm deep and with standdard soil compost bought from the local garden center. Placed in a small cup pot for starting her.

She the seedling was in the post now for 2 day and there for no appearence until I woke up the smorning to find she had broken the surface and the outer shell of the seed was allready off.

My problem is she is lying down and looking a bit purple. Is there anything I should do to get her standing and to get rid of the purple colours on her 2 fake leaf shoots. Its Easy Bud auto Fem from Royal Queen seeds.

I have attached a couple of photos alough they do not show yyou much you can see she is lying down and not standing. This is my first attempt at experimental growing on my windowsill.

Not sure about purple that quickly but it should pick itself up, sometimes sprouts go sideways but then find the light source and stretch towards it.

That's great thanks for your answer mate. I will keep my fingers crossed that the baby starts to rise towards the sun. She is still lying down I will maybe give her more light, surely that will help yes?

If your from UK, not sure how
kuch sun guy really get and this isn't really the right season to plant outdoors in northern hemisphere anyways. I'd try bringing her in, give her some CFL lighting if HIDs aren't accessible, otherwise you could leave it out during more intense light hours and bring it in for extended light hours. Keep a close eye on it as if the problem is something else, tiny plants do get damaged much quicker than large plants.

Yes she is indoors anyway on the windowsill i have a small 25 watt Halogen to start her off. I have been told will do for the first couple of weeks until she starts getting bigger then I will go with bigger CFL's. This is just an experimental grow and on a tight budget. I am not wanting to cultivate kilos just some grams for my own use.

OK so day 2 and she has slightly picked herself up and she is now showing her 2 small true leaves which is good to see but I am still worried about the root. The root that is showing above the soil is minimum since I have the lamp very close to prevent to much strech but I noticie it is still a bit dark purple colour. I did have a little peak at the root that is under the soil and that is looking ok since it's white it's just the part that is above the soil that is dark purple. I think maybe I put it in to moist soil. I did flush the soil with lots of clean water that sits in my spray gun so it's not fresh water it has probably been in the spray gun for over a week to get rid of the chlorine and fluoride in the water. I have attached a photo of her but you can not see much and I can not get a decent pic of the root to show you guys but it is kind of purpley black colour. Should I just leave her and she will pick up? Also notice in the photo that the 2 true leaves are curling up towards the light. The lamp is Halogen so I can not get it too close but at the moment it's about 5 inches above the pot and the temp is sitting at around 27 degrees centigrade.

27 is too hot?

I would not use a halogen light - too hot and not the best to use - try to use a couple Cfl's instead. 27c (approx. 80f) is a bit warm but not bad. Glad to see the seedling is getting its "feet"!

Well she seems to be doing even better now, she has stretched maybe about 1/2 a centimeter today so far with the small halogen on her and now I have introduced a small Energy saving CF lightbulb which gives of some nice white light. I also noticed in another thread someone posted about Easy Bud that it has also got a purple stalk so I guess the purple stalk is common for young Easy Bud plants. :)

The sooner they pop out , the greater is the quality ! If they last too long, it means they are not really good seeds ... Maybe !
