help with hunidity and temps

Ok. been growing for a while now and things have had thier ups and downs...time to invest a little more into some climate controll..

last few things on my list are temp, humidity and CO2..

CO2 is not much of an issue as we have lots of people and animals in the house that all breath and the grow is in the basment, CO2 being a heavier gas im almost posotive the basement has sufficient levels for growth.

humidity and temp are my next battle. i think i know how i will battle the temp issue, a small space heater rigged up to a digital thermostat should be able to keep my room at 74-78

which brings me to my other battle, humidity...this is where i could use some help of the DIYers out there.

my initial thoughts were to just rig up a humidity meter to a vaporizer...this should work just fine but i need a way to controll the electrical output to the device when optimum levels are reached.

any suggestions woould be greatly appreciated. i really dont have the funding to go out and buy a controler.

Without a controller its gonna be hard.
Only thing I can think of would be a timed. You would have to monitor humidity for a day or 2 and see how many times and how long you have to keep humidifier on to regulate rh.
Then set a timer by what you found out. Won't keep it perfect, but should keep close enough to work.
Other than that I havent a clue.

wondering if something like this will work. it says its "low voltage" though so not sure if it will be able to handle the load of the vaporizer

Take readings at every hour that you plan on running your lights, and then again with the lights off...
Do a 100% hourly test...
You most likely, will be able to just run your humidifier with the lights on, so plants won't dehumidify it self...
Lights off my humidity runs 10-17 points higher...
The area between lights and canopy runs even less RH...that space is where problems happen...[dry leaves etc]
I know you are in a hurry...
I say do a 100% plant less dry run for a couple of days, and really just check every corner of your grow....
Good Luck!

I live in a dry area, so I fog my Veg tent. I got these $20 ultrasonic foggers, and float them in a 20 gal tote. They really consume water. But, if the water is low they shut themselves off.

From the top of the tote is a 4" fog tube and a return line from the bucket in the tent. The fog tube is wired to the top of the bucket. And the condensation drips in. I have a 1000 size pump at the bottom of the bucket. When the bucket fills, every 3 -4 days, I switch on and pump the water back to the tote. But, I only recover about 20%. I need to keep water replacement in the tote, also. I don't usually use all 3 foggers, but yesterday I did for a bit. It was very dry RH. photo 4(1).jpgphoto 3(1).jpg I just monitor the RH meter in the tent. Sometimes I only need one fogger.

im not in a hurry so much as i dont have alot of time on my hands these days...i work 6 days a week 60+ hours so i need something that will maintain itself.

i made a small list and by the time i buy all the stuff i need to DIY it i may as well just look into a controller.

heres my list

digital thermostat..30$
temp/humidity meter...20$
humidity controller...30$ (i believe they sell a dial style at home depot)
tape and wire nuts....5$
wire....20$

105$ for all that

ok so im up in the air between this

http://www.amazon.com/AIR-3-Temperature-Humidity-Atmosphere-Controller/dp/B0049OXT1A/ref=pd_sbs_hg_4

or this

http://www.amazon.com/AutoPilot-APCETHD-Autopilot-Environmental-Controller/dp/B008NNPYKM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388344667&sr=8-1&keywords=Autopilot+controller

one is a little less but does not have precision CO2 controlls, i dont have CO2 right now but if i have a controller that will handle it i can upgrade in the near future.

anyone have any experience with either of these?
